It felt a little strange to have this fight against Gort right after fighting malos as the supposed final boss, as it was pretty easy, but it makes a lot of sense, and even though the song is just a different version of Jin’s boss theme, it’s still just as amazing. Also, it’s definitely fitting that the last thing Lora did was finally kill Gort with Jin and Haze, “so that her mother could rest In peace”

Because of Gort, Jin was born to defend Lora. Because of this relationship, Jin ate Lora at her final moment. We can say Gort is the man who led to this tragedy.

I never realized that this track was an arrangement of the Jin fight music in the base game! It uses strings mainly as opposed to what they use in XC2 (Idrc rn). This helps to show that Malos influenced him a ton in his life after meeting up with him.

@@loaftreos3825 I think that both of them were just lucky. We saw what happens with failed flesh eaters with Minoth. They are powerful but not that much more. Successful flesh eaters on the other hand are on a different level of strength. Jin can manipulate element particles and Nia can heal everything. It has nothing to do with the strength of the hearts. Just pure luck. And I guess the emotional bond was helpful too.

Interestingly, in the base game The Power of Jin and The Acting God are Jin and Amalthus' themes respectively but, in Torna, Our Paths May Never Cross and Over Despair and Animus (both remixes of the former themes) are Lora and Malos' themes respectively.

id still consider Our Paths May Never Cross Jin's theme. it plays in scenes he features prominently (it first plays when he arrives to save Lora from Gort and his mercs) and the title is taken from a quote Jin says to azurda.

Imagine instead of just the Gort fight, we got to see Lora’s death in real time as they fled Amalthus’s forces. Then, Jin does the Flesh Eater ritual and turns into his black wing form before slaughtering the Indoline forces in a gameplay segment.

Story time The first time I came across an upload of this song in 2018, it was called “The Power of Jin (Torna)”, and I hadn’t yet finished this game, so I worried the game was going to end with a fight against Jin after Lora dying and Jin losing his mind and taking his anger out on Addam and Hugo (I had forgotten how they told her death in the base game, and I thought Mythra accidentally struck Lora when she used all her power to take out Malos and sink Torna in the process). Then I actually played the game and fought Malos for the last time, and I sorta forgot about this song. Then when it started playing during Gort’s fight and Lora was the only driver left in the party, I thought “Oh no, is this it? Am I supposed to lose this fight? Is this how Lora dies?!” But I actually beat Gort on my first try, and my worries about this song and Lora’s death (until the credits played and I remembered how she actually died) were put to rest. (I actually found out right before writing this that even if you fall in the final battle, the game automatically revives you)

Yes!! When I first beat Malos I was like "alright, now to see Lora die in the slowest way possible", then Gort appeared and I was like "NO! NO! They did NOT end her story like this" and turned off my Switch. I guess that other voice was Zanza and I should have taken it literally!

Gort is honestly one of the most despicable villians in the franchise. Even the fight you have with him for this, he's this ugly and scary creature that comes back to torment Jin and Lora one final time.

That piano, man... It just sounds so hauntingly beautiful and makes a great song even better. I love this rendition of The Power of Jin, what, with it being the final battle theme of Torna as well as one of the final fights before Jin's "start of darkness" of sorts. So what a better theme to play than a remix of his own theme? Easily my favorite theme from Torna.

I hate gort with every cell in my body. Hate to say it, but he had good villain design because he helped flesh out jin and lora's backstories and made the player feel hatred towards him as well, so they would be happy when he finally was defeated

It was like 9PM and i was doing the last grind before the Malos fight, i remember saying to myself, "I will not sleep until i finish this game". Beated malos at like 11:30PM and then, i fought against Gort at like 12PM. Needless to say i did not sleep well that night. TL;DR: Never fight Gort at 11:30PM, you will regret it.

Just finished the DLC of Xeno 2 after 40 hours. This game - Xeno 2 + DLC - is absolutely incredible. I assumed Xeno 1 would be my alltime favourite game (and the longest I've ever played with 100+ hours). But it got beaten by Xeno 2 + DLC with 200+ hours. The question is: Will Xeno 3 take 300+ hours? What will happen to my real life then???

​@coldtyrant2557 Lora was frozen in a "moment of eternity" between life and death, jin regetting and unable to let go of her memories, to move forward, stagnate in his misery. Interestingly, the architect does the same. He can't let go of the regret and the mistakes he made: elysium's preservation served as a reminder, a place almost seemingly frozen in time. I believe the conduit was keeping it together because as soon as it's gone, elysium falls apart. Also love the consistency with the gold motes as he disappears, it's the same as those in 3 that truly die

For the player, maybe he's the step-dad, the uncle, the deadbeat dad whether from being a violent alcoholic or drug addict, or the random asshole your mother brought back to the house - and he's not the first she's brought home. His movement when he's mad always made me think he wasn't _just_ mad, he was on something. I actually like how weird and off-putting it is. Fun fact: he and the director (from the first ch10 cutscene in base game) share the same model as gort's design wasn't finalized yet. But I actually like the younger design for gort. It definitely comes off that gort used to be into substance abuse but has since sobered up; too many close calls in those days. He's still a piece of shit, but he has a proper job, even if it's an awful dubious one and his thievery put into use.
