I love this channel. These people are so authentic and down to earth. Your significant other may be a little confused though. When my wife and I are hanging out, she looks over at her husband, sees me commenting about someone named Moby scarfing everything in sight, babbling about Bonnie, Clyde, Jeckyl, Hyde and a Sheriff but only sees me watching fish swim and is fairly certain I have officially gone off the deep end. I guess I get it. But its so addicting, and I make no apologies. What a great escape this channel is from the crazy world we live in today. Kudos to these 2 for sharing it with us.

In my experience, sunfish will use any bottom that can be dug into as a nesting spot. The dock at my grandmother's house is in a spot with a muddy bottom and a big sunny made a nest right next to the dock. One was nesting in a gravelly bottom at my great grandfather's dock and was biting me for going too close to its nest (something that scared me until my dad pointed out the fish to me). Also, as someone who loves aquatic animals and aquatic ecosystems, I love how you go into great detail about the behavior and nesting habits of the fish.

Look for arrowheads and native pottery in the creek and up in the fields! If you’ve got a natural body of water and a high and dry spot nearby no doubt you’ve got native history in the area. Locate a high flat spot close to the water or maybe near a bend in the creek and you’re probably on it. If I had property like that I’d walk all the rows looking for rock bullets

I watch the sunfish in the creek by me fanning their nests and protecting the nests from others. Sometimes I throw a small bare hook into the nest and the sunfish will pick up the hook and take it outside the nest. Sometimes I can hook them. When I throw the sunfish back, there is usually a fight between the original builder of the nest and whatever has moved into the nest.
