We’re thrilled to share a very special moment with you all. As many of you know, our first son, Jeremiah, was born via cesarean section. While we were overjoyed to welcome our baby boy, we felt a bit disappointed since Anna had a low-risk pregnancy, and we hoped for a natural birth.
Determined to have a different experience this time, we educated ourselves about having a vaginal birth after a cesarean (VBAC). Our journey led us to plan a home birth, believing it would give us the best chance for a natural delivery.
In this video, we proudly present the birth vlog of our son, Kanaan Anthony Deku, who surprised us by arriving 9 days early! Join us as we navigate this intense and emotional journey, with Anna bravely labouring at home. We hope you find inspiration and joy in our story.

As I watched, I wept.. God used Anna's natural labor to remind us what birthing is in the Spirit... When she turned her face to the wall and wailed I felt the Holy Spirit saying, in this season your prayers are going to give birth! God's people have travailed in pain but there is a sound that I heard through Anna that a surprise is in our midst! ❤❤❤🎉🎉

You are the best support system any woman would need from the start to the end. May the Almighty watch over you as you take on the role of leading, supporting, protecting and providing your family. The first time watching a birth following the birth of my successful vaginal birth. I know every experience is different but I could feel and relate how you were feeling. Your birth partners and the midwife were amazing. The words of encouragement they offered, they gave you options, they reminded you of what you wanted. It is a true testament of God’s glory, simply beautiful to watch. When you started to say its burning, omadaiis that is how I felt and a second later after that feeling the baby came. More likely to tear with an epidural because you can't feel the contractions/when to push...also the birth takes longer with an epidural ..leading to more interventions from the midwife such as forceps, C section, baby heart rate dropping...

Hey what a beautiful birth experience - congrats! Please could you do a video on if you felt any pressure to choose a black doula and if you ever considered one? I think I limited myself to doing so as the pool is so much smaller - so just curious if you felt fully understood - as I felt that there were some things that just didn’t need to be explained with a black doula.
