Thank you for watching. It’s a shame it’s so far. We feel the same about visiting Australia. It’s somewhere we would love to visit

Surprisingly we didn’t. Food in the evening was very filling. No late night food on Riviera except for cookies 🍪

Breisach is the nearest German town to where we camped in the 1970s on L'île de rhin - which is in the middle of the Rhine between Breisach and Neuf-Brisach on the French side. (The area has been fought over a lot for centuries) You were also close to the Kaiserstuhl -a single mountain next to the Black Forest which is reputed to be the place in Germany with the best weather! You also went through the historic city of Freiburg-am-Breisgau which is a major university city and was where as a teenage navigator discovered what a one way street was in German eine Einbahnstraße as we went the wrong way down one and were corrected in German oops.

Thanks for watching. We are sure we passed through the university town on the coach. We can confirm the weather was great there!

@@TomandDomTravel I know time was limited but one of the greatest paintings of the German renaissance is on the French side of the river in Colmar - it is the Isenheim Altarpiece. Seeing that piece by Grünewald from 1517 or so which he painted for a plague and leprosy hospital has Christ suffering from a terrible skin complaint and in complete agony It stuck in my mind and was something I valued seeing.
