it is amazing that in 1403 a person crosses the bridge and sees a pub on the left and a monastery on the right, and six hundred years later crosses the bridge again and sees a pub on the left and a monastery on the right.

It's just amazing imo how this region of europe has decided that history should be preserved. I don't think any other game comes close to KCD! It is more like a time machine, than it is a game.

Im a player of this game from Malaysia, and this video makes me want to travel to visits these peaceful countrysides. Really love how the developers stays true to the historical aspects of this game. I wish a lot more game developers do so because it can close the gaps between people that play games and people that is a nerd of history (im both hahaha)

When I first played Kingdom Come Deliverance, I fell in love with it so much that I actually travelled to the Czech Republic on vacation just to visit some of the places that are mentioned in the game. I had a great time. Prague especially is like Heaven for anyone going through a medieval nerd phase like I was at the time. Also beer is cheap there. 🙏

Czech republic has one of the most castles per square kilometr so its hard to look after all of them, but there are hundreds or maybe tousands of well maintained castles here where they showcase medieval weapons and fights, sell food, beer and all of that. And I think you werent lucky for those crosses, there is millions of them around here.

the river was changed from the game to irl, this could be coz of gameplay like bro said. but it could also be erosion, taking place over 100s of years, altering the shape of the river, giving it greater meanders or even creating a new branching river. thank you gcse geography great video tho, really well done; makes me want to go on my own lil kcd crusade

Those are small towns and tiny villages with close to no tourism, the locals can easily tell you are foreigners and this is why they appear somewhat unwelcoming. But it usually takes just a beer or two to open them up, who knows, maybe they would be eager to play dice with you?

The problem is that - given the current ideological bias in architectural schools - people with this passion for ancient buildings are discouraged from pursuing a career in architecture and go instead in the videogame industry, where they can recreate and design beautiful models of ancient buildings without being accused of "not being modern enough". I hope these projects will reignite interest in the amazing history of our cities and an architecture that respects and values that.

Thank you so much for making this video. As a huge fan of KCD (I’m working on my 4th play through currently), it has been a pipe dream of mine to visit these locations in person. However, being from the U.S., that isn’t financially feasible. So thanks for giving me a tour! It’s interesting (odd? awkward? depressing?) how emotionally attached I am to locations I’ve never been to.

That's so cool that the towns in game are actually real and laid out the same as in real life. I had level 15 herbalism when I was plucking the weeds for Brother Nicodemus, so when I accidentally grabbed some mint, it swiped the whole patch in one go, Bro didn't want to show me anything after that.

Always seemed strange to me that the Chapter Hall of Sázava monastery isn't in the game as it should be, since it is the most valuable part of the entire object, and you can notice that the frescoes of angels from there were just copy pasted throughout cloister arches. And do I understand correctly that the pub at Rataje chateau isn't existing anymore? That would be a shame, spent an amazing day there with friends. Thanks for the great and witty content and I am sure you are in for a treat with Kutná Hora. :)
