We're in Pisac, Peru during the Coronavirus Pandemic, and things in Peru are not the same as they used to be. Today we spend time roadside around Pisac seeing what we stumble upon. We see an animal sanctuary, take our first colectivo, have pink chicha on the side of the road, and more. The Coronavirus pandemic has made travel more difficult, but we try to experience what we can while we're in this country. It's Covid 19 in Peru, and Pisac is just a shade of what it used to be. Hi guys....ask for "chicha fuerte" anytime you want the one with alcohol (fermented) ...and "chicha dulce" will be the one its sweet but not alcoholic, usually they make that so kids can drink it

Your adventures in Peru should be made into TV mini series in the US. Each video is fun, and I always see and learn something new. I am always looking forward to the next episode. Paddington bear is an oso andino. He went all the way from Peru 🇵🇪 to the UK 🇬🇧 ;) We also call him "oso de anteojos = 🐻 + 👓 = spectacled bear" and yeah, he looks as if he is wearing a mask ... a bandido mask ... lolz I think Russians have also their own Paddington bear story, in their case "Cheburashka" came from South America in an orange box ... lolz 🦜 says hoooolaa !! Wow your channel grew up from 3K to 10K. Congrats. Imao... The way Lindsey danced at 15:24 it's how you dance that genre of music. It seems you are ready for a party night with Alex. A brief explanation about chichas. "Pink Chicha" doesn't get you drunk. In the other hand, "Chicha de Jora" has a strong flavor like alcohol and you get drunk with those. Keep in mind Chichas doesn't have artificial alcohol but "Chicha de Jora" has a natural alcohol. The last one is so much better for meetings with friends.

Not everybody like this type of music because they think only dance it rural people but I love this music :).

I'm amazed to see a condor up close. I was surprised that, you didn't mention the famous song " El Condor Pasa ". Simon & Garfunkel did an adaptation of it as well. The musical group Leo Rojas does a great rendition of it on KZbin. It is truly a majestic bird from the Andes. Love your videos. Your Spanish is also improving. Keep practicing and learning new words every day. When ye are at home do a Spanish only day.

There is no alcohol added to the chicha, but longer it fermented the stronger it gets. You can always ask if is fuerte or no, you like the fuerte and me too 😃👏👏👏👏❤️🇵🇪

When you drink Chicha and they tell you is fresh (fresca) is because is not ferment. After the procces of fermentation is when the Chicha becomes in an alcoholic drink. Greetings guys I'm a Peruvian who now lives in Budapest but with an American girl friend.

I think you guys though is chicha with strawberry (frutillada) but the lady selling said is strawberry with corn flour (harina de maíz) that’s why you found it different. Great video! Thank you 😊

Temperature during fermentation determines whether alcohol is made. 75 F and cooler will result in bacteria that fermented: no alcohol. 75 F and above yeast will take over the bacteria and the result is alcohol.

Hi Alex and Lindsey. The Peruvian government has extended the State of Emergency nationwide until 08/31/20, due to the worsening of the Covid-19 pandemic. The curfew nationwide is from 10pm to 4am. Some provinces will go again into lockdown and curfew, from 8pm to 4am, and all day on Sundays, including La Convencion and Cusco (province). Pisaq (where you are now) is the Calca province, so no strict curfew for now... (Source: Diario Oficial El Peruano) Please be safe. Beautiful video today ❤ 🤍❤

Chicha de Jora (malted corn) is prepared on the basis of dried and germinated white or yellow corn that is ground and then boiled. The liquid is sifted in large baskets of reed and fermented for 3 days in ceramic vessels. At the end of this process this drink must have more or less 3% alcohol content. Frutillada is chicha de jora and to this is added liquefied strawberry from the Sacred Valley and is consumed especially during Cuzco carnival that takes place in February.

Francisco Siles, I love queso frito - it’s the Andean version of cheese fondue. I believe it’s most commonly served up in the area around Puno and Lake Titicaca, but Puniños (natives of that region) often make a living as street food vendors. The views are great wherever you go. That entire area seems to build their structures to face the best views possible. It's so natural there with very little erosion but if those places get too over populated with tourist, these ares will begin to show signs of destruction. Oregon here... Yesterday I went to the trendy section of my neighborhood to get a bite to eat. Alberta street is riddled with locally owned restaurants and coffee joints. Most are totally out of business. One joint was take out only, but I had to order via phone outside, then I ate my food sitting on the curb. I truly miss our old normal.

You are lucky guys. Stay in Sacred Valley this time is perfect. I am peruvian so I can say that pink chicha was a berries drink. Traditional chicha is made by corn (chicha de jora) and has natural alcohol, so you must ask "chicha de jora". It is delicious and is traditional drink at andean region in Perú. There is another "chicha morada" that has not alcohol and is like a lemonade. Nice trip. I recomend to take a trip to Calca, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, next to your location in Sacred Valley.

Chicha is alcohol-free. It has a fermentation process and depending on the time it can be stronger. They usually sell it after 2 or 3 days of fermentation. Ask for one that has many more days.

Yes there are Inca terraces alll around the area. We will be exploring them on video soon!

Garth, They are Andenes. When we see a lot of them in several mountains Andeneria . Inca did the best Andenes , but Pre-inca ( before the Incas ) was the first doing Andenes kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn7KpKZmrd-Fppo

Andenes have been built and used high up the mountains in Perú since ancient times in order to be able to use as much terrain as possible for agricultural purposes. As well, it's been the best way to fight soil erosion. Further info: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/And%C3%A9n
