Always love to hear about UK people visiting ff the beaten track America. Congrats on getting out there. I suspect what you called small towns I would call tinie tiny or one traffic light towns😂. Totally agree Mount Rushmore is amazing. Also, congrats on surviving a 5 week together!!

Thank you we had an amazing time and loved being able to have quality time with my mum (not sure she was sold on van life by the end of it 😊) We use the all trails App to find hikes and follow a map - it works in both UK and USA. The hikes we did were mainly signposted hikes and difficult to get lost - we did free out a little bit when we came across warnings for bears and mountain lions!
