Listen to me clearly. This isn't finger pointing, it's real brainstorming. If you rent 50% of the year for 180 days to generate 50k gross income... can you write off 100% of your tax expenses as an expense to pay interest? Have you asked your accountant about this? If you are renting for more than 320 days of the year, don't you think Cra will see this as an extensive business activity and demand a high sales price from the seller? Does the city require you to test the water and submit a report because it is a public accommodation such as a hotel or motel? What home insurance do you use for airbnb? Do you have a shoreline close to the water?
