Born and raised in Redondo. I moved away a few years ago, and these episodes are a little slice of home 😭 Not sure if you're around for another day or two, but if nothing else I hope you get to try the churros on the pier! They're better than Disneyland, seriously. My perfect Redondo day - have a beach day down towards the Avenues (less people than by the pier!), then head to Riviera Village for some late afternoon food and drinks. Next, head to Handel's for some ice cream (I'd suggest driving) then bring it back to watch the sunset along the Esplanade. I know Redondo brought you out here, but Hermosa and Manhattan are worth checking out as well. And the views from Palos Verdes are unmatched. Missing the South Bay so much! Thanks, Best Life.

Hi from the UK Katie and Spencer 🙂 it's so nice to see Redondo again!! We spent a week at the same hotel in Aug 2019 and absolutely loved the beach and pier! Then a week in La Quinta and a week at Disneyland. Epic holiday. We love California and can't wait to visit again. X

If you ever get to the East Coast, Blue Ridge Mountains/Appalachian Trail near Marion Virginia, You need to check out Saltville, VA in the summer when they do Civil War re-enactments and learn about how they were the one place the South fought hard to keep because of the Salt there. They also have an amazing museum of the Middle Appalachians there (with a Mammoth to scale (If I remember right was from bones found in the actual salt mines) But there is so much history there going back 30,000 years. In the fall the leaves are amazing, but the spring is amazing and winter is stunning with all the snow but not so fun to drive on all the winding roads lol. It is also near Wytheville which has so much history, back in the day took my then 8yr old son to watch Lord of the Rings 3 in a 75th anniversary Millwald Theater, it had the old seats and everything. You have the Appalachian trail to hike, Abington has Martha Washington Theater Marion Virginia has 90 year old Lincoln Theater that was restored in 2002 where they even restored the murals that were painted canvases on the walls, it was a community project that when completed is stunning, I saw the high school production of Oklahoma, both were great building and production!. I did all of this with my son in tow lol I probably drug him to 200+ small town museums and enactments. Great memories, I lost him May 23 last year when he flipped his truck coming home. He was my world and I had better stop before I start blubbering hahaha I recommend the area for about 2 weeks to hit all of the small towns and see their awe, There is even Hungry Mother State Park which in the summer has a killer arts festival and the mountains are beyond gorgeously wonderful, outdoor drive in theater is more amazing at the top of a mountain under the stars. It is a magical place. Take care lol sorry sometimes I get to babbling and you got the one today lol

Redondo Beach is beautiful. Years ago, my dad parked his Porsche down near Rat Beach. Came back and some kiddos had buried his car in the sand (ha!). Also-the giant whale mural, "The Whaling Wall", was actually retouched a few years back. We live locally so I remember seeing them fixing it. I asked one of the guys how the artist was able to create such a large mural and have perfect proportions. They said he actually worked on the mural in small square sections at a time. If you look closely you can actually see the square sections.
