Our Sibling is DEAD - About the Gnoses (Genshin Theory and Speculation)

One of the most mysterious part of Genshin has always been the Gnoses and where they came from. With the information we got in Fontaine's Archon Quests, I decided to make a video about my ideas on their origin, and what they have to do with the Traveler's Sibling.

Remember, the Sin Shade of the caretaker of the Sun-Children of Enkanomiya said that she saw someone dressed in the same style as the Traveler, which might indicate that the sibling was there at some point before/during the Archon War.

"I have not seen someone in your garb for a many long years...". Except that the siblings' outfits are not alike at all. Maybe it was the Traveller who visited there before, through some time shenanigans? Either that, or to a native of Enkanomiya, all clothes in styles outside of Enkanomiya and Inazuma are the same. Or at least the siblings' outfits are similar enough to outfits from some other land, like Sumeru deserts or Kaenri'ah. And of course, it is entirely possible that Clymene remembers the Sibling's visit not during her life, but at some point in her existence as Sinshade. Such as during the Sibling's travels before or after the Fall of Kaenri'ah.

@@kotarouinugami1745 It could entirely be that Deshret and his analogs throughout history have some kind of aura, some "thing", on them that makes them recognizable to the dissipated energies of the likes of Enkanomiyan ghosts, Aranara, Seelies, etc. Akin to in real life meeting someone's grown up child for the first time and immediately recognizing them as the son/daughter of their parent you haven't seen in 20 years.

Yeah the battle pass story talks about one sibling being deceived and then us, the traveller who hasn't. Since in Dainsleif quest we know our sibling is leading the Abyss to overthrow the gods for what they did to Khaenri'ah - our sibling's deception could be that they think they are fighting for justice in overthrowing the gods but something else is going on under the surface that means their vengeance is misguided. Something is amiss though in that the archons are intentionally trying to thwart the heavenly principles to the point they will even side with the Harbingers.....Zhongli seems to provide the balance because he would not give up his gnosis willingly to the harbingers if they were truly the evil ones....and yet, something about our sibling trying to overthrow the gods is somehow wrong... Whereas we as the traveller have been told over and over that we have to go through this whole journey - as if to say that with our pure sense of justice we will come to prioritize defending Teyvat rather than just finding our sibling - perhaps because if we were just able to find our sibling, we too would be deceived and join them with the abyss.

That might because the Abyss isn't just 1 entity but a bunch of entities, many abyss mages, abyss herald's and our sibling (plus those guards in the 2nd dainsleif quest which I forgot their name), etc

I do think the sibling is dead but it's mainly because the Bloodstain chivary artifact lore spoke of the death of the bloodstained knight who went to khaenriah and died there, only after he died that he realised the truth and joined the abyss. also there are so many world quests where we have read documents of past khaenriah soldiers who died and then they reappeared as abyss monsters to fight mc. this leads me to think people only can join the abyss once they have died.

My theory is: - Both traveler and sibling were originally descenders - As we know sibling got sent to an earlier point in the timeline than traveler, meaning it makes sense that the sibling is the 3rd, and traveler the 4th - The sibling died, perhaps after abandoning Dain, and their body used to make the gnoses - Paimon and Neuv corroborate this in Fontaine's story, implying that the 3rd descender must've resonated with all elements just like the traveler. No other known descender was mentioned, just "just like the traveler" which makes sense if it was their twin - After this, the sibling we see is either 1. a replication/clone like Dotore's or 2. a puppet like Scara or Raiden made with Khaenri'ah tech (they had the tech to do this) - This is why our sibling is now considered to not be a descender, because the sibling we "know" now was MADE IN TEYVAT - This is also an incredibly good reason for traveler to be forced to work with the fatui and the tzaritza later on (and thus make them playable) if they are trying to resurect their real sibling. Counterpoints to other theories: - It wouldn't make sense for it to be Nibelung. It's clear by now that Celestia does everything in their power to keep "forbidden knowledge" away from their people, archons, gods, etc. They slew Orobashi for f's sake. So although it'd be entirely possible for the dragon king to go get that forbidden knowledge, that would mean that he became corrupted. Why would celestia hand out corrupted remains, to possibly corrupt their archons and gods? Like... Celestia wouldn't just be like "hey, 7 archons we chose to keep order, here's a poisoned item with the forbidden knowledge we do not want you to have". like?? - I don't think this one is a time-trickery because simply from a storytelling prespective, not only can it lead to plotholes but also it sincerely doesn't need to be considering we already know of other ways to replicate someone - It gives the traveler a good reason to work with the tzaritza storytelling wise EDIT: Just remembered Scara says to Traveler that the reason why Irminsul has records of the Sibling "might have something to do with Khaenri'ah" which goes hand in hand with my theory. He also confirms the Sibling is not native to Teyvat and lived with the Jester (top Harbinger) at some point, who is a Mage from Khaenri'ah, so their relationship may also be going hand-in-hand with my theory and the possible recreation or revival of the Sibling by the Mage. Also per Nahida's quest the "count" for descenders being 4 is actually the Fatui's counting. So the Fatui know the truth about the Sibling, otherwise they would've counted them in. Which also goes hand-in-hand with my theory. Food for thought!

I think that's slightly debunk I say slightly because there is one part you miss both the traveler and the sibling are the 4th descenders, they went to Tevyat at the same time it just so happens the traveler just woke up merely 500 years after Khanreiah's destruction, the abyss sibling woke up first and even woke the traveler before both siblings attempted to leave Tevyat before the unknown god stopped them, however their last stop was from Khanreiah before leaving Tevyat, and the unknown god sealing their powers as well as the travelers that one of them has been sealed for 500 years, and the abyss sibling witness Khanreiah's destruction, but my theory is that the traveler's kin is still sealed and the abyss cloned them but that's a strong theory

I noticed that the more archons we visit, the more recent their close/significant ones die; Venti and Zhongli - Bard and Guizhong died during or around the Archon War Ei and Nahida - Makoto and Rukkhadevata died during the Cataclysm Furina - Foçalors died very recently. It makes me wonder when the other two (Pyro/Cryo archons' friend/family) died/will die. It also makes me think - since the story is about the Traveler and their sibling, maybe some kind of connection can be made there too, but the Traveler will reweave "fate" and save their sibling.

A lil correction, maybe. Furina isnt an archon strictly lore wise. If we count not the Archon title, but the elemental authority itself, still makes sense with Neuvillette losing a close one (focalors).

@aX depends what "they" means - If you mean the archons- well, the Traveler's closest bond is his/her sibling, and the archons also had a dear friend/family of their own that they lost (broaden this word's meaning - dead, MIA, etc.). We meet Venti and Zhongli first, two archons that lived thru the Archon War and lost dear ones thru that war. (Despite them having differing bonds nowadays, back then, things were different I'd imagine.) We then met Ei and Nahida who lost their dear family (not sure what to call the Dendro gods' dynamic) during the Cataclysm, something that happened after the Cataclysm. Then recently, we met Furina who lost her dear divine self ("mirror-me" as she called her) during the Traveler's journey, regardless of his/her involvement. That then begs the question, what's gonna happen to those dear to the Pyro and Cryo archons? If ("if" means it's hypothetical) the Traveler were to be likened to a god, not too unlike the archons, then what's gonna happen to their sibling? When Dain, in the Travail trailer, said something about reweaving fate, will the Traveler save their sibling in some way? If "they" means the dead friends/family, well, they don't. Not sure where that POV came from. They died in the relative order we met the archons for the first time, as I explained above. Nothing to do with the Traveler, other than placing a point of reference that determines how long ago they died relative to the beginning of the Traveler's journey. Travaler wasn't in Teyvat during the Archon War, nor the Cataclysm (or at least the abyss sibling saw the end of the Cataclysm before waking their sibling up.) While ik what I'm talking about, I'm not good at describing or explaining my POV. If you don't understand where I'm coming from, I'm gonna give up trying. No, re-read that ending dialogue with Zhongli again. He CAN still create mora. He just chooses NOT TO because he is now "human" But ignoring that, this is a very interesting theory! I didn't factor in Istaroth and their time shenanigans to make the Abyss sibling the 3rd Descender still

We certainly know that Rex Lapis was already creating mora when Liyue Harbor was first built. Which was before the Archon War ended and the winners were given Gnoses. Unless the gnoses were tossed into the surface world at the beginning of the Archon War, making the fight quite a lot harder for anyone who didn't get the gnosis early on.

I think you are right. Morax can still do it. The problem is that He wasn't the one who used to mint mora for the past few centuries. The Qixing used his Gnosis to make Mora. Now the Gnosis is gone and Morax is hiding so the minting has stopped.

Think about it. We haven't physically seen our Sibling in a couple of years at least. And it wasn't until Scaramouche tampered with Irminsul looking for the Sibling that Nahida told us we have no records in the Tree, but our Sibling does. I propose that we only BELIEVE we arrived with our Sibling because either Aether or Lumine is a Khaenriahan puppet with the original sibling's memories implanted into them. So even if the Traveler actually came here alone, if the twins are CONVINCED they arrived together, then that's all that matters for the intents and purposes of the Fatui's plan to break fate and unveil the truth of this world. The truth that a lie can change the world.

1:31 bad example because we know Zhongli made Mora in large amounts without the Gnosis in the early days of Liyue Harbor. Used them to make metal houses. The idea that the Sibling had their will removed seems contradicted by the fact that we met them and clearly they have an agenda they are strenuously following. Also there's no indication Istaroth can travel through time. If she could then couldn't she have won the war against the 2nd throne more easily? Pop back in time before the war and warn everyone? Keep going back in time until there's a hundred copies of herself? Etc etc.

My guess about the Mora thing is that the Gnoses not only increase elemental power, but also grant power over the Archon's conceptual domain (Freedom, Contracts, Eternity, etc).

I wonder. I imagine Nahida used the electro gnosis more so as a amplifier to her dendro gnosis. That way she could do whatever she wanted to do at that time. I wonder if the cryo archon plans to to do something similar, but with the other 6 gnoses.

After finishing this video, I'm left wondering...maybe Natlan will be the place, where the Archon doesn't want to give the Gnosis (freely). Personally, I always found it rather weird, that the Archons we've met so far, always just gave away their Gnosis without much resistance (I kow, reasons, but still...). I think it would be cool, if in Natlan, there would be an actual fight between the Pyro Archon and the Fatui for the Gnosis.

I thought you were going with the "Twin revived" theory where they were killed and revived with a curse that keeps them stuck in Teyvat. Which is why they have records in Irminsul probably after they were revived. There is the Loom of Fate where we don't know the power of yet, but I presume can alter timeline which may be connected to why we were separated through time. Also this video just goes on about the sibling being the 3rd Descender and I doubt that they are the same person. There is still the unknown "One Who Came After" who is not a Descender and not Second Who Came. But they, alongside Heavenly Principles, created the Gnosis from the corpse of the 3rd.

Zhongli can still create Mora if im not mistaken. The reason he stopped creating Mora isnt because he gave up his Gnosis, but because he chose to live as an ordinary mortal. Normal humans cant just create more money on the spot so he wont either. Zhongli did say that the creation of Mora requires the use of the Geo Archons power but with what we know about the Gnoses it doesnt really make sense for the Geo Archons power to refer to the Geo Gnosis instead of the power and abilities of Zhongli himself. Mora is his flesh and blood so i dont see why he couldnt create it anymore, but since the Gnoses are amplifiers for elemental powers it probably made the process more efficient.

The Gnosis' may have been created from the remains of the Third Descender, but the magic/authority infused into them was the power stolen from the Sovereign as we see when Neuvillete is given his "Authority" back when he is given the Hydro Gnosis.

1. Nahida's statements about the Gnosis are speculations and we're bluffs to keep Dotore in check, Doctore only acted on those bluffs because he could not ignore the possibility of it being true. So I don't think we can take them at 100% value 2. It's not activated true the absence of the Gnosis will stop the mint that makes Mora, Morax himself is still capable of minting them with his bare hands as he is still Deus Auri in the flesh just as he did with the very first Mora. It feels like the Gnosis were used as an extension of the Archons power to carry out an individual function that would otherwise require the Archons direct involvement for example Morax used it to mint Mora, Buer (Rukhadevta) used it to power the Akasha, the hydro Gnosis and the Oratrice Mechanic Denalise Cardinal may or may not have a connection it was never cleared so I'm not sure about that one and Ei and Venti never used their Gnosis for a longer duration so that is an unknown 3. Dottore Specifically says that Nahida cannot use the Electro Gnosis for Combat. This could mean two things Either a. The Gnosis have to use versions one for utility and one for combat and only the choosen God can use it for combat OR b. The Electro Gnosis' abilities are more combat oriented and since Nahida lacks both Combat skill and Combat experience she cannot use it to its full combat potential. Knowing Ei and her way of Governance I'd say it's the later part 4. I don't think the sibling's will was taken or tempered with it was most definitely intact when we saw them in Caribert quest (even though we played through the quest as the traveler it was still the abyss siblings perspective) Also I have thought about this multiple times but what if the sibling does not have the same powers as the traveler and I'm not talking about Aether and Lumine as two beings having different power sets because their choices make them somewhat opposites, No, I'm talking about the abyss Sibling and the traveler having different powers. When we see the abyss Sibling defending the Herald their blade has been completely restored but is wrapped in dark abyssal mist instead of its former golden glow. What if the sibling unlike the traveler chooses a different way to restore their power. Thus instead of the golden glow of reason (as Rene/NarzissenKrauz says it) they would the power of the abyssal Delusions. As for why the sibling would do this, that would be because unlike the traveler the Abyss sibling never accept the power of the seven elements like we did whether they didn't want to or there was no need for it I cannot be sure but I'm leaning more towards the later choice 5. Istharoth's involvement is very unlikely as she is supposedly the God of perceived time or specific moments of time (Kairos). Her abilities and powers are still quite unknown and as she is refered with the name of Kairos I don't think she has absolute control overtime. In addition to that the little is known about the Chaotic space and a God's realm of consciousness as even though only a few minute had passed on the surface over 5 Centuries had passed by within Makoto's realm of consciousness. Ei never traveled in the past but that singular moment of when she planted the seed was moved back in time almost as if she picked a singular frame from a motion and moved it back in the order 6. Enkanomiya is proof enough that Isthroth does not have absolutely control over time. the sinshades been specific moments of consciousness aside the world of Enkanomiya itself is frozen within the moment before it's fall. If she were to truly saye Enkanomiya why not reverse time and completely restore it. 7. I think Natlan will be the game changer as for the very first time the Fatui will not be able to take the Gnosis instead we'll be the one's to take the Pyro Gnosis into Sneznaya as our bargaining chip . As for what the Tsaritsa wants with them i think it's clear now that we've seen how many came before who tried to take on Celestia with the power of the abyss and failed so the Tsaritsa wants to take both a Descenders power of Reason and the abyss's power of Delusions to use it in the Pneuma Ousia fashion to create a total annihilation of Celestia

My tinfoil theory about why the sibling doesnt classify as a descender is that when they visited the sinner he replaced their will with his own, which is why they're single mindedly seeking the overthrow. It is interesting though that the powers we see the sibling use are only abyssal no elemental powers. Is it possible also that a copy was made of the sibling and the real sibling was sent back in time to be destroyed to make the gnosis? What we're seeing could be just a clone, this could have been the prime event of the cataclysm? Why we see their record in irmunsul because it's a record of a teyvat made copy.

Nice vid! I know i have the benefit of hindsight from "The Road Not Taken" video. What I find strange from most content creators of recent, is that they just stopped talking about why the Traveler is the one with lost power and will. From the newest animation, its clear that Lumine (abyss sibling) never lost her power, whereas Aether assuredly has. I guess because we all take it on faith that what Nahida told us is absolutely accurate, that the Traveler is the 4th Descender. But if Irminsul can change perception, then someone could of changed the appearance of the Descender order? Or that maybe Aether fell twice? How? Think about it, Aether lost his power, someone must of taken it. What happened after they stole it, did they discard his physical fbody? Did they imprison Aether? And if so, who helped rescue and place him off the shores of Mondstadt? In a way, if he was 'rescued' and sent down again, then it's even possible that Aether is both the 3rd and 4th Descender then? (And Maybe Nahida left the part about being the 3rd Descender out because of the trauma that would induce) Edit Also wouldn't it be SO ironic, if the Traveler is the 3rd Descender, and how many times did he come into contact with most of the Gnosis, their OWN power, and to not only be unaware but just let people walk off with them. Has the Traveler ever even held one of the Gnosis physically? Very Strange. Edit 2: (sorry lol) But also, the Traveler is actually trying to prevent them from being stolen and gathered all in one place, when if they are the 3rd Descender, that's exactly what they should be doing, gathering them all up to reclaim what was stolen from them.

This is actually really close to a theory I came up with, that being that Dainsleif is the Third Descender. It makes sense to me if Dainsleif was separated into two forms (similar to Folcalors and Furina) and that the Dainsleif we know is just the empty shell, with no substantial memories beyond what he directly experienced after crawling out of the Tunigi Hollow. This husk of a person would be stripped of all astral power, left with nothing, making room for the Abyss. The divine form of Dainsleif is then the one turned into the Gnoses, scalping the divine power from Dainsleif.

The Archon War Started 2,000 years ago that's when the Third Descender had all ready died, our twin died and fragment of our abyss twin sibling appeared, she doesn't have her light powers to which it stored into the 7 Gnoses. Kirk seems sad about the Third Descender, its the reason she stays in the Abyss, maybe to take care of the abyss twin. The fight with the Unknown God might taken place before the Archon War. I think our twin found out her memory has been wiped before, so she tried to run away only to be stopped by the Unknown God.

Okay so I’m not as involved in all the Genshin lore as I want to be but I have a theory! what if the sibling is the third descender and the reason they have records in Irminsul is because they had kind of a parallel to Focalores/Furina in that their divine power was separated from their physical form and their divine power became the gnoses while their physical form continues to live on in Teyvat. And since their physical form isn’t necessarily human they don’t age like a human would but their physical form is technically of this world now which is why they have records in Irminsul? I’m not sure if there’s anything glaringly incorrect about this theory but I’m curious!

The sibling could be the 3rd descender, even though the Gnosis' are remains of the 3rd descender, it could be only in the sense of their elemental compatibility that is present in Teyvat. Both the siblings can use all 7 elements, but that doesn't mean that's all they have. Remember they're both so old that they witnessed stars be born and die and travel through different worlds as they please, not only that but we've seen them use a power from the abyss and possibly light(not sure if it's combined elements or not). We're not even sure what exactly are they, spirits, demi-gods, etc. if they were gods(actual ones not fake ones like the Archons) then their role could most likely be "Observers", hence why they travel through different worlds, which could also mean they can't output their power to it's full extent or even a fraction as it could throw the balance of whatever World they are in, and they are actively avoiding it since they are just "Observers". And to whoever created the Gnosis(Heavenly Principle/ ??) most likely wanted to Ascend and become a real one but needs alot of time and other preparations to use those Gnosis for themselves.

I've had this theory for a while now, so I'll say it here. I think our sibling IS dead, and the one we see in game is a creation using alchemy. Albedo was a test, and is why he has so many design similarities with the twins. 'Lumine' is the finished product. That's why they 'appear' in Kheanriah, and also why they aren't a descender. I think they might have the memory of our twin though. They're attempting to rewrite history to get their body back, but Pierro from the Fatui may have a different idea (collecting the Gnoses), and since the Tsaritsa may also want to change the past and create a 'new' world, their goals align.

I have big Theories too -First: I think Paimon is Istaroth why ? Well one Proof is the Paimon Modul but it’s not the biggest one. In Lantern Rite 2023 Traveller said that Paimon has no Feeling for time and Paimon was very Insulted and didn’t want to speak with Traveller for a time. And Lastly a Melusine in the Melusine Village (I can’t pronounce the Name of the Village sorry ) said that Paimon looks like a being from HEAVEN. You could use Akasha or Oratrice to show how Archon utilize their gnosis but you use Zhongli's ability to create mora, something that has been debunked multiple time. 1. The one that needs gnosis is the Golden House, it stopped operating once Zhongli trade his gnosis with Tsaritsa. It means no mass scale Mora production can be done here anymore. Zhongli choose not to create Mora not because he can't but he needs to abide to mortal rule. "As Rex Lapis Morax I can easily create Mora, but now that I chose to live as Zhongli then I need to abide the mortal rule" 2. Another proof is the fact that he used Mora to teach his people how to build a house. This was done when Liyue Harbor established. There is no concrete timeline about when exactly Liyue Harbor was established but we know for sure Morax moved his people when the assembly fell, back to the south which is the Harbor. In Xianyun SQ, Xiao stated that the Archon War reached its peak when Guizhong died (the fall of assembly). Archon war hadn't ended in Liyue at that time, but Liyue Harbor was already established because Morax could move his people there. He taught his people to build house using Mora. Conclusion: He created mora when the war hadn't ended = no gnosis 3. There are 2 (so far) sources that mentions "Deus Auri" (God of Precious Gold) in game; Neuvillette and Oathsworn Eye catalyst. In that weapon, it is stated that Orobashi ran away because he couldn't bested Deus Auri nor Narukami. Orobashi, ran away from Morax from what assumed to be Archon War. Now, why would Morax be called "Deus Auri" when his feat to create Mora is thanks to the gnosis? Liyue was still in war, Orobashi needed to escape Morax, He hadn't got gnosis yet.

You're mixing up the Primordial One and the second descender, the one who rules Teyvat now under the name of the Heavenly Principles. The Heavenly Principles is the one that doesn't really like mankind. Istaroth wouldn't have needed to rebel against the primordial one by protecting humans because the Primordial One was known for their love of the humans they'd created. The primordial one disappeared after fighting the second descender, who then took over Celestia and tossed out the gods that lived there at that time, i.e. the moon goddess and others, sending them to the surface world of Teyvat. The Heavenly Principles is the second descender, the one who battled the Primordial One and took over this world. Istaroth would have been rebelling against the second who came because they invaded and took this world from Istaroth's maker, the Primordial One and THAT was why she helped the humans of Enkanomiya.

I dont believe so. In Sumeru we had a sort of time warp flashback to Lumine bearing witness to what basically started the Abyss Order. Part of that involved her finding some massive purple... for lack of a better word, rock. That seemed to have sentience and claimed to be a god. That was able to undo the curse on a hilichurl. That was the Third Descender. I am almost positive. The only other things it could be is one of the allegedly dead moon sisters, or shining shade.

@@SiliconOneFour no true, it did not state it was a localised event about khaenri'ah, but they "saw the world in turmoil, a cataclysm raging across the land", the two main point here is the mention of "the world" and "accross the land", this means the entirety of teyvat was involved and turning to shit, which most likely point toward two event, the battle between the primordial one and dragons, or the archon war, and since it's was the sustainer that stop them, it's logical to assume it happened after celestia was formed, meaning it was the archon war they witnessed. This also makes more sense to the lore and the release of the twins, because the heavenly principle "went to sleep" 500 years ago, around the time of the khaenri'ah incident, which could be the reason why one of the twin was released early and "suddenly show up in teyvat" around that time according to nahida.

I do not take what the Doctor said about Nahida not being able to use the Gnosis at face value. If that was the case how then come, they are gathering them if not to use them? yes i can confirm that our sibling is dead because when completed the could retainer quest when i was in the quest the child who lost her granny was an adeptus and when the adeptus turned from human to crane from that moment that old woman died and then appeared in the dreams which cloud retainer's device active, but in case lumine/ Ather( travler) the sibling apeared in the dream, the cloud retainer device is used to awaken the old memories but it also showed the memory of future as well, although it was the dream yet the travler's sibling apeared in the dream that implies that only dead people can come into the dream through cloud retainer's device. this theory came up when i played the story quest of cloud retainer, although i can speculate that it might be true sibling appeared in the dream could be the dead one not the alive one which showed the dream of the future where they traveled toghter in teyvathad shoping experinces furthermore dining together like a family, when travler saw these in the dream she/he got wake in an instant crying beside the cloud retainer, which can imply that our sibling might be dead and the upcoming archon quest resurection might give us the hint of awakening of the sibling of dead fatui harbinger. all in all i cant confirm this theory yet.

With how Ashikai's video on Nicole brought up Descenders and Outlanders are two different terms with Descenders meaning you have a will equal to that of the world itself, then with how our sibling isn't considered a Descender but we are. I don't think our sibling was personally ever a Descender, just an Outlander, but at some point was integrated into the "natural order" of Teyvat, though I think this is just speculation since we lack any other examples of Outlanders besides those that are also Descenders, a character whose canonicity to the game is probably non-canon (Aloy), and possibly Alice herself as haves have speculated for years at this point. Ever since I watched that video Ashikai uploaded and saw that theory, with other threads that people have forgotten about such as the Traveler's drip marketing, with other ones we've properly learned about like with Teyvat's Samsara cycles, and that Genshin and Honkai Impact share the same cosmology and that Teyvat is a bubble universe of some kind mostly likely connected to Earth... I've personally had a theory I like to call "Venus' Finality" stuck in my head that's in its infancy, has some core points, but still probably needs some fact checking on both ends of where it's drawing stuff from and also relies on how some plot points of HI3rd Part 2 may play out, and I may just be missing some connections. But essentially, the twins are confirmed to have some connection to Kevin Kaslana due to him being the one reading out their drip marketing back in June 2019, and he's only ever been used this way with them. We know the Travelers are from another world, are essentially immortal, and are referred to as the Morning Star and the Evening Star, which outside of connections to Lucifer also ties them to the Planet Venus. Honkai Impact Part 2 takes place in the Bubble Universes of Mars, in the Sea of Data which is essentially just another "sector" of the Sea of Quanta, but this was kickstarted by Serendina contacting Kiana who may possibly have been the Herrscherr of Finality of Mars before its civilization "fell". We also know that from Part 1.5 Venus did used to have a civilization on it as well but was destroyed, which was something that could've already been guessed from the "Dreams of Honkai Beasts" and that Kevin in Chapter 35 of HI3rd has stated Honkai have been to every planet in our Solar System and Earth was the last one on the stop. Which this even ties into the Traveler's drip marketing with what Kevin said about their world being nothing but dust, which Venus is known for having, and that it's also nothing but rubble and they've lost their people; as the planet is shrouded in acidic clouds destroying the wonders once there and it's now a planet that is nothing but everlasting death as additionally explained in the Dreams of Honkai Beasts. "The world you once knew is but dust, and the wonders you knew but rubble. Though you should have your own world, and your own people - lamenting what is already lost..." -K·K (Lumine Post). "Don't lose faith in that which you have lost. In this new world, you will never be alone. Where you leave your footprints, and where you have yet to stride - your new world will unfold before you." "Welcome to a new world." -K·K (Aether Post). With Mercury being confirmed to never having been populated before from "Dreams of Honkai Beasts", that leaves a Herrscherr of Finality/End, the only Herrscherr that is naturally supposed to be locked in and repeat, for every other Planet. Teyvat has had four Descenders, Kiana has not traveled to Teyvat, if Serendina is indeed a Herscherr of Finality belonging to Mars, she hasn't either. Which leaves five planets... but possibly only four civilizations as "Dreams of Honkai Beasts" mention Uranus and Neptune together and not separated like any other planet, which may mean they we're a space-faring civilization when Honkai targeted them or the planets had some sort of natural portal gateway system on both of them tying them together. But four civilizations means four finalities, there have only been four Descenders in Teyvat's history, and Teyvat translates to ark. Now of course, as Otto was able to observe Teyvat in one of the Honkai Impact manga's, this would mean Teyvat is a Bubble Universe of Earth from what we currently know... and the Moon chapters of HI3rd suggest bubble universes are localized to the celestial body that houses them, unless Star Rail isn't a proper branch of the Imaginary Tree and is instead a Bubble Universe of space itself. It should be impossible for these Finalities to access Earth's Bubble Universes unless Teyvat is some specialized Bubble Universe, which may be suggested to already be the case, that opens itself up to those who remain of destroyed civilizations to enter it that just so happens to be of the planet that's the last of Honkai's stops in our Solar System. Outside of the Otto thing, while the sky is a lie in Teyvat, the Moon that occupies the sky of Teyvat's main "overworld" is one-to-one with our own Moon. This just being a thing that is further tying Teyvat to Earth itself. So, with the Traveler we play as being a Descender, this means they can easily utilize the elements or... authorities of the world due to Finality possessing every authority Honkai can give to a Herrscherr. In Honkai Impact, Finality's authority is mostly associated with time, however... Finality is the only true, real Herrscher and the authorities of all other Herrschers come from it. Though it is not unheard of Herscherr's that aren't Finality to obtain the authorities of other Herscherrs (see Sirin in the Second Eruption manga). But as Herscherr of Finality's are the supreme Herscherr, considered to actually be gods, the ruler above all other rulers, their will can easily be stated to be equal of that of a world and fit the term "Descender". To cover the Abyss Sibling, as they're not a Descender I do not believe them to have been Finality, their own powers could possibly come from having been a Herrscherr of a previous authority or that the sibling we chose shared their power with them somehow while still having access to it themselves, which probably is in the realm of possibility of occurring as creating Pseudo-Herrscherr's is already possible and it would still ensure the Abyss Sibling is not a Descender as they weren't truly chosen by Honkai itself to be Finality. This does also suggest that The Primordial One, the First Descender, as another Herrscherr of Finality: when she made the Four Shades, they're not simply other gods they created but Pseudo-Herrscherrs they made by manifesting their authorities over time, life, death, and void from herself if the artifact theory is to go off of which as of right now seems to be true, and them having Reason. Among probably other authorities they didn't split off that she still has from when Honkai invaded their original home civilization. Which specifically creating humans doesn't seem too far fetched as Honkai Impact 3rd has shown the Civilizations of the other planets in our Solar System were also humans or at the very least humanoid to the point their body shapes were almost undistinguishable. This does fall in line with how people believe Celestial Energy to actually be Imaginary Energy, which some people seem to forget, Imaginary Energy is also Honkai Energy. As Su said as well with Project Valuka, there is not a world out there free from Honkai, which rings true for Teyvat whether it be Celestia and the Descenders or something else. Though what thing is Teyvat's Ether Anchor, keeping it from falling apart and descending into the Sea of Quanta, I have no idea. Though with Teyvat's Samsara's with this fourth one being considered it's final one that'll end with no more possibility of civilizations of popping up, that anchor is probably at a verge of breaking somehow through those which will have it fall into the Abyss. With what Su said though, I think the apocalyptic threats that come at the end of each Samsara and completely wreck the world is the actual Honkai itself. Since no Bubble Universe is free from it and it attacks civilizations in the "real world" and Bubble Universes all the same. This is to suggest though, the Descenders, at least the Traveler we play as and the Primordial One as individuals in their own ways keeping Teyvat safe and maintained (event if the Primordial One isn't exactly doing their best job at it) are Herrscherrs of Finalities that kept their "humanity" when they were converted. Which may be lessening Elysia's impact in Honkai Impact 3rd admittedly, if Part 2 isn't already doing that with potentially Serendina. Though this means Honkai still has an bone to pick with them as it tries to "test' Teyvat. As for why it's only at the end of each Samsara cycle for Teyvat do they come down and attack? Most likely because there's some seal made by the power of Finality keeping them out until they eventually breach it. After all Honkai strengthens in accordance to its targeted civilization, and Kiana in APHO managed to seal it on the Moon and that apparently requires her full attention so she's unable to help assist in the battle against the Sky People. Honkai is also not exactly picky with the level of civilizations it tests, you don't exactly have to be at a level where you're a tad more futuristic version of our present. After all Honkai was always around during the new era's ancient times as well. They became the reason for why some monsters and such of our mythology exist in HI3rd's world. So a world less advanced and more magical than our own is still a ripe target for Honkai as long as it has a civilization in it. Then worlds it attacks in the Sea of Quanta usually begin to fall further into the Sea of Quanta to never be seen again with the destruction of it and its civilization.

In Genshin's case... I think this may be the Abyss itself. Which in my opinion I think the Abyss is just another Sector of the Sea of Quanta like how the Sea of Data supposedly is. Albeit with this, I'm talking more about location than power, though there is no need for the power itself to be different either in truth as the logos for Quanta and Imaginary between Honkai Impact 3rd and Star Rail are different despite being the same thing, and this also applies to the "elemental power/damage" each game posses as well for the ones they share being portrayed differently so the Abyss and Celestia logos (if the sigils seen in the Sustainer's cubes are supposed to be that like how the Abyss Herald's portal is supposed to be its logo) can just be different logos for the same thing like the other titles in its shared universe have different logos for the same stuff shared between them all. With the Abyss' influence on the world and its presence becoming stronger and more wide spread being a result of each Samsara cycle ending with the Honkai "winning". Just with the power of Samsara cycles that comes from Finality and an Ether Anchor somewhere to prevent it naturally falling, keeping Teyvat from having a full fall down. Each cycle of destruction simply makes it fall further and further into the Abyss of the Sea of Quanta and explains the growing presence of the Abyss in Teyvat. As to explain the Traveler's direct connection with Kevin Kaslanna however, we know they were searching for a new world to live on, so I think when Venus fell they decided to travel to Earth for being untouched by Honkai but still had to deal with the fact travel from Venus to Earth would take a long time. So by the time they arrived, I think they reached Earth during the era of the previous civilization during its own war with Honkai or the 4,300 years prior to HI3rd (2015) when all the inheritors woke up from the previous civilization (So Fu Hua, Kevin, Su, some normal humans, etc. etc.) up to the moment Su sealed Kevin away in the Sea of Quanta. It's the only explanation I could think of on how they could've met Kevin for him being the narrator of the drip marketing the Travelers have and for what he says to/about them within their drip marketing posts. As for how they then fell to Teyvat, I think Kevin or someone let them use the Second Divine Key (or something similar) to traverse the Sea of Quanta for a new home instead. Which if you believe they were summoned to Teyvat like Ashikai does, then simply whatever spell summoned them to Teyvat just in truth adjusted the trajectory of the path they were traversing initially to Teyvat instead. I think the biggest issues with my own theory here however are, besides being semi-dependent on information that is not completely confirmed yet or is just speculation, is explaining how other Descenders reached Teyvat if its a Bubble Universe of Earth and not really having any evidence supplied saying its some sort of weird special exception to how Bubble Universes operate, what or who its Ether Anchor is in "the main universe" to explain how its gone on for so long without falling into the Sea of Quanta, if it even needs one still that is. The Abyss being another sector of the Sea of Quanta requires outright confirmation the Sea of Data in HI3rd Part 2 is just another sector of the Sea of Quanta with a special name and possibly characteristics. If the other Descenders reached Teyvat without needing to go to Earth, why did the Traveler and the Abyss sibling possibly need to as their drip marketing suggests. Then of course: why would Kevin, or Firemoth if landing during the previous era, allow two prime subjects on what Honkai could throw at them and to study Honkai even just... go outside of "It's not worth the hassle of possibly making another enemy to humanity". If during the previous era, could probably say Elysia convinced them like how she did convinced them to not just kill future members of the Flamechasers and instead letting them leave and find a new place to settle on without hopefully having to worry about Honkai as some sort of test use of the Second Divine Key (which sort of makes it more Project Valuka related than Project Ark if you think about it). If during the ancient times of the current era though... I don't really see another reason besides "It's not worth the hassle of possibly making another enemy to humanity". Especially when it was still in a vulnerable point of time of being in a new infancy though if it was anywhere close to when Arthurian Times were supposed to occur (which is when Kevin was initially deciding to just start Project Stigma then and the catalyst for the reason why Su decided to seal him away). I could see it as an additional thing of "I don't want these two interfering with Project Stigma" as with what we know of the Travelers, they'd probably be against something like that just like how the heroes of the Current Era were in HI3rd. (I wrote way too much than I was initially intending to, that this separated into two comments--).

We do see the two siblings falling on Teyvat in the prologue. The fly past Liyue Harbor and Mondstadt. Liyue Harbor is about 3700 years old (established after the fall of Guili Assembly), and Mondstadt is about 2000 years old (established after people left the ruins of Decarabian's city). "Before the archon war" is certainly too early for the siblings' arrival.
