Our sons birth story 2020 | Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita

My daughter was born with AMC, SMA, and rare complications caused by 48XX chromosomes, all rare and rare outcomes. She wasn't expected to live past infancy, or walk, talk. She is 46 yrs. old. I used to pray for two things, to live to see her walk, and to go to regular school. She is my miracle, my joy. She graduated from high school, had a part time job at a hoagie shop until medically she couldn't do it. She goes to a day program, has many friends, and lives a joyful life. When she was born, there were no cell phones, no internet, no information. The world is at your little boys feet. He is going to soar! And with parents like you, he is so blessed and happy.

Thanks for sharing the story, I’m in my 25th week and we just got to know that our baby might also be having similar issues.. I’m so happy to see your baby progress and expecting everything should be fine with our baby too.

Our baby was diagnosed with rare arthrogriposis syndrome after she was born and unfortunately she died two months old because she couldn't breathe even with oxygen and tracheostomy. We are devastated. We had club food and polyamnion but doctors never said it might be arthrogriposis. After we saw the diagnosis and doing our research it was so clear from 20 weeks pregnant that it was arthrogriposis. Clear amniocentesis all the exams but no one believed we would have something so rare. If the doctors knew and informed us before birth we could at least have something in mind. Hope all children are happy and healthy.

Beautiful, perfect little boy.He will amaze you.My daughter has distal arthrogryposis,we had loads of appointments and now she’s 2.It does get easier over time and trust me, he will find his own way of doing things.All the best!
