I grew up on a dairy farm in southern Iowa and we bottle fed all calves whether male or female when they were born. Males were just as important as females because they either became the future steer for our table, or were sold for someone elses table. Love your show. I cant live on the farm again, soI live my farm dream through you.

I also grew up on a diary farm all the calves were pulled off the cow after they were two days old then bottle fed from then on.

Same here we started out on bottles but then I would stitch them over to drinking out of a tub and could fed a bunch at a time . Having as many as twenty to raise it saved time and four good dogs to herd them and watch over them in the pasture til time to bring them in to their milk and to be put up at night

I had to watch this video twice!! The barnyard stories are so special!! All the animals have names and personalities, and Jason makes stories about each of them… Moody, Mildred, Peaches, and Nugget! All the chickens, goats, ducks, peacocks and turkeys, Pink and Tuck and all the dogs work together! You could write children’s story books with pictures of them! I just love the way you, Brooke and Mary Carl treat the animals! It’s precious!
