Really like the larger stove and the stone wall, imagine that helps to keep the tent warmer longer. Also like the wood pile inside the tent and like to see people collecting their wood from fallen trees and branches, helps to clean up the area.

When my father was a youth they put coal oil (kerosine) on the fuel to start the fire. I have a lot of faith in cotton or drier lint saturated in Vaseline though a birthday candle or three can get the job done. As long as what you do works I don't guess it matters much how you start it. Well using gun powder in any form has its drawbacks. Happy new year.

Great video, one of the things that I do at my off grid cabin is pre-cut kindling so that I have it ready to go for when I arrive the next trip, along with a stack of dried wood next to the stove. I have 2 wood sheds outside with seasoned wood as well which I usually cut either the previous fall or spring.

Hey U 2 I have a tip you can enjoy all year round.. Get some Polyethylene Foam Sheets they use for packing etc.. You can sit on them at very little expense and be warm . I have a 1/4" 12 x 12 sq sheet on my car seat works even at -30 + .. They just throw that stuff out anywhere , one sq will last a long time even your chairs , especially at nigh by the fire.
