My father knew Johnny Keys very well. My father was Angelo Bruno's godson, and both my father and grandfather were soldiers in the Bruno family. My father was VERY old school mafioso, very tight lipped, hated the flashy mafia members like JG. I remember him saying "today they all want to be celebrities". That was back in 1996. He died in 2019 at the age of 86. Hated talking on phones. Used to drive me crazy when I was in the car with him, "Always watch your mirror". He had me making lefts and rights whenever he thought we were being tailed. Always paid for everything. Everything was on him when he went out with his family. Didn't have any friends, just his family. Didn't trust anyone outside his circle. He was the last of the Mohicans and I miss him every day.

Wow, just wow. I have been addicted to this channel for about a week. I watched dozens and dozens of videos but the story of Johnny keys hit so different. I'm a completely straight laced person, save for a few embellishments here or there my tax returns. I'm not affiliated with anyone who's affiliated with anything criminal. I have to say however, this story of Johnny keys and how Sammy developed such respect and adoration for what this man believed in and how he conducted himself knowing that he was going to die, so moving and so touching, so poignant that I cried. Wow. It's the principle of a man standing for and living his conviction, even when he is the loser of the day. Life is fragile, conviction while you residing in it is everything.

Like soldiers they are bands of brothers
@cameronjones86413 жыл бұрын
@@lisashrestha5023 Both the poster and yourself need to rethink your statements. I have studied mafia history for years and love these stories as much as anyone but don't allow yourselves to get caught up in the emotion of this production. It's rediculous to consider these utterly corrupted and treacherous people as loyal bands of brothers. As much as they have some moralistic values, they live by a distorted and twisted set of rules based on the exploitation of others. They are fascinating people no doubt but nobody should be glorifying them. Sammy comparatively seems to have been a mafia member with a higher moralistic value, he is definitely a master story teller and incredibly interesting but let's not pretend he comes from a beautiful background.
@cameronjones86413 жыл бұрын
If you think the closeness of people so treacherous that they cannot trust barely anyone around them is hard to find I would consider your life choices!
@noneofyourbusiness1503 жыл бұрын
@@cameronjones8641 you are not wrong. But Sammy does feel close to many of the people in his former life. It is the closeness soldiers feel to each other in a fox hole. Yes, the mob life is full of treacherous behavior, if ordered to they will kill their best friend, but also their best friends know what they signed up for. Their are no drafties in the mob, they all volunteered.
