Oh Liz this made me tear up!!! Thank you so much. I was not the most well behaved kid so I think it helps me in a way stay empathetic towards them. Especially with them being only toddlers. I so look forward to spending a few moments with you two whenever you post. I remember how hard it was when my kids were very young and we lived 9 hours away from any family. Now, my daughter is in the same boat, as they live three states away from me. I so wish I was closer to help her out. I just told her yesterday how proud I am of her dealing with all she has to deal with by herself. I am proud of you both, too! I can tell you do the absolute best for your family and work together as an awesome team. Remember, when the kids are small, the days are long, but the years are short! Some wonderful recipes and some lovely memories 💕We love a good home date night! We kind of do theme nights. Like Italian apps/ main/dessert and movie Under the tuscan sun. One favoite is cheese fondue and later chocolate fondue. Wishing you a very merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

My husband and I had a similar situation as yours when our kids were babies. New in the area, no family or close friends anywhere near us. One of our favorite dates after the kids were in bed was to buy all of the goodies to make ice cream sundaes, and have ourselves our own little ice cream social. Our babies are now in their mid 20s.

On the base of your kitchen aid mixer, there is a flathead screw. You can change the height of the bowl by turning the screw. It is a very sensitive adjustment, so some trial-and-error will be involved. But that may help you with getting your attachments and bowl to align.

Using the dough hook it doesn't have to reach to the bottom. Just scrape down your bowl to get it off the bottom and it works great

I think this specific model of kitchen aid mixer is a little temperamental 😅 the dough hook is worked just fine on my old tilting kitchenaid mixer but this style, it will leave a big pile of crumbs behind when I try and use the dough hook 😭

Watching dough rise…. Similar to watching paint dry. My Gran used to make bread- if only for the sole purpose of “kneading” it; meh- she Needed to punch it up a bit. (Grampa says, Ah.. what mighty fine bread you got there!) 😅 OOOOHH eEEEM GEEEE!! Patience. Nope not with technology!!! We live in a click and get world.. meh! Nope! No patience!! You deserve the nervous breakdown! (Just as I do) but, right now is not the time.. We’ll have a moment just a few…. Creative date nights…. Fond memory.. kids went to sleep, i set up 12 water bottles down the hallway with a botchie ball. We played bowling. Yes, libatations were involved. Yes!! Fun memories!!

I have actually used the bowling game for my 4 year old grandson. It keeps him busy with grandpa so that i can make dinner. It helps with hand eye coordination on the big scale. Instead of botchie ball, i used a small basketball for him…. In the hallway.. with no windows. Lol😊

Somehow I forgot the baking soda and salt in the cookie recipe and we ended up with very flat “cookie bark” but it was absolutely delicious. 😂 I pledge to do better next time and pay attention to what I’m doing. 😂😂😂
