Hey mate, just a heads up. Check ya aircon lines above the chassis! If you've done corigated roads, which I know ya have, they rub through on the chassis rail....mine rubbed through rear quarter drivers side. 👍

Champion! Thank you for the heads up! I’ll definitely go over it and have a look. Iv been up and in most corners and haven’t noticed (while doing the diff breathers and wiring etc) but I’ll have a closer look. Cheers mate!!

Great vid. We have the same Y62 and I just watched your recovery point install vid to help me do mine. Thanks for that. We also don't run a bullbar, but I'd love to know what brand of nudge bar you run for your light bar as we need more lumens up front and that looks the goods. Cheers, dd

Nice and neat rear fridge/draw install to the rear. Any idea how much weight gained if any ( considering rear seat removal )also the method rims, What size and offset if you can remember. Sorry for the third degree as I am purchasing the Patrol end of year and just need to be mindful of weights as I tow a 2.8 tonn van with ball weight around 260 kg. Cheers.

Great post, just brought a 2019 series 5 and have added air bags etc but hooking up the chains from the Van is a worry as the holes in the nissan factory fitted tow bar arent very big to fit the D shackle What size shackle do you use

I have found that the Rhinorack options for the roof are no good for offroad users. You really need to be careful as they do not publicise their offroad limitations, and you run the real risk of overloading their system, damaging your roof and then not be covered. There are a few other influencers who have tackled the problem, hopefully you are all over it and this is a redundant post? I am now beginning to look at which full size 4x4 will replace my MUX in a couple of years, and the Y62, seems to be ticking more boxes than I expected. Keep up the good content.

Hi mate, thanks for watching! Appreciate it. There is good and bad with everything I guess.. and as you would know, you often only hear of the bad stories etc. Not to say its not bad, but we have done a lot with ours and have had it fully loaded more times than I can count on horrible roads and angles etc and (personally) my experience is that its been a great unit for us. You will absolutely love the patrol mate! its an awesome car! Thanks

Do you find the wider tires through mud and stones up onto side panels?
@AussieVanAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. No not really.. a little mud makes it up the sides if there’s a lot of turning etc.. but no more rocks that normal. Thanks for watching!

Those heavy duty standard height coil springs on the rear, are they ok with hbmc suspension and what brand are they mate🤙
@AussieVanAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate. We are pretty fussy about the ride, so did some thing a little different to the ‘norm’ and we used the king springs REAR KDPR-303 coils. They are a rear 2” lift progressive rate coil (comfort coil) designed for no load.. so when we put the load on the back (drawers fridge etc) they are standard height. (They squash down 2”) but offer lots of movement still) if that makes sense.

is there a separate false floor under the draws and how did you attach the draws to the false floor if there is one there?
@AussieVanAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes.. with the seats removed, the floor is slanted and uneven. The false floor was there from my previous setup and we re-used it for this one. There are a few ways to fix the drawers to the floor, the old setup had angled brackets, but this drawer system was a complete ‘box type carcuss’ which was screwed in to the false floor

Another great video. No doubt changing tyres is number one. Keen on your thoughts about changing wheels from std. Seems most people do it for cosmetic reasons. I realise you can probably go a wider tyre changing rims - but is that a top 5 consideration?
@AussieVanAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hi mate! Thank you for watching. Great question really, to be honest.. no.. wheels wouldn't be in my personal top 5 mods. as the larger off road tyres do fit the standard rims easily without issues. The aftermarket rims are really only cosmetic (they do change the look of the car a lot) but also do give you a wider stance. So not in the top 5 so to speak.. personally.. i do think they are a worthwhile mod
@manfredjuraschek93303 жыл бұрын
@@AussieVanAdventures thanks for the reply and confirming my thoughts. Fortunately for me (and my wallet) I like the looks of the stock rims on my white S5 Y62. Probably not as good on other colours.
@davidl38643 жыл бұрын
The wider offset is necessary in harder tracks to keep the car away from things, along with rock sliders

@@davidl3864 agree if going hardcore. May leave taking the $80k car through those challenges for a while. Battle scars can wait a few years😁

Gday mate, great video thanks for sharing it! I have a Y62 on order and am trying to plan all my mods etc through the horrible waiting period 😖 I’m not full bottle on rim and tyre sizes without lifting... could you please let me know what size rims they are? Have you lifted your beast mate? Cheers, Steve 🍻
@AussieVanAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate! How exciting! The waiting game is horrible! Haha. Thanks for watching by the way, the rims are 18x9 +18 offset and the tyres are 35x12.5x18 and we have no lift in our rig.

Hey mate great vid. Just interested in size of spare. I thought 35 would be a stretch underneath? Thanks
@AussieVanAdventures3 жыл бұрын
No problem 👍 Thank you! It is tight, no doubt about it.. but we have it in there. To lift it up under there we used some CRC spray and lifted on an angle putting the diff side up first, then just slowly bit by bit winding the opposite side up and in. its up and in the whole way slightly deflated (we have a compressor onboard to inflate when needed too)
@leighhepner19663 жыл бұрын
@@AussieVanAdventures cheers for that. We have approx 34s so will have to have a bit more of a crack 💪🏻👌
