I love the wheel-out videos! I'm a superfan of that Jessicurl deep conditioner. I use the unscented one, and I consider it a gentle giant -- I wouldn't use just any dc as a leave-in ("protein overload is no joke!"), but I did use Jessicurl dc as both a dc and leave-in this winter and it worked wonders. I've been singing the praises of the little-known Kinky Tresses brand -- I love their butter, oil, and cleanser, so I've ordered their dc and can't wait to try it. Hopefully by this Friday's Live I'll have tested it. I just wish they made a gel. Congratulations on hitting 17K, which I've just noticed as this video has come out!!! Don't allow probably the same few debbie-thumbs-downers to try to dim your beautiful light when you have multitudes who love you and we share so much together. The science-y part of “protein sensitivity” is really about protein moisture imbalance. Our hair is made up of protein and we lose it through everyday wear and tear. if your hair won’t hold a style, curls won’t pop, you may have moisture overload and need a protein to balance your hair out. Or if your hair is hard and crunchy, you need moisture.

I was probably the person who commented about proteins! I hope I didn't sound negative, because I love you girls and your channel, I love how natural and conversational your videos are! I just wrote it, because it can be useful knowledge. I would add that some things make our hair feel pleasant without actually nourishing it or unpleasant without damaging, though of course I wouldn't use the latter either. Some proteins are more forgiving than others - while fine delicate hair loves bigger molecules (wheat, corn, oat) for the structure and rigidity they provide, naturally coarse stiff hair or true low porosity might not enjoy it, unless the formula provides enough moisture and conditioning to balance it out. That said, smaller ones like keratin, silk (or even singular amino acids like serine, valine, proline in Mielle Babassu Mint DC) are a safe choice and can be used by everyone, because they are more softening and penetrating. Other than that, only 5 (or so) first ingredients truly make a positive or negative difference for our hair, nobody will really have overconditioned or overproteined hair by 10th or 15th ingredient! (unless something potent, but it's rare in haircare). The whole formula also makes a difference, for example I hate Shea butter, but a high quality conditioner that puts it lower down the list, after emulsifiers, plus some humectants, proteins and I'm fine. Also, curlies often blame wrong ingredients for poor effects, because there is so much (typically irrational) panic around them. For example someone slaps a coconut oil onto their hair, leaves the warm steamy bathroom and panics, because the hair is stiff - coconut oil is stiff in room temperature! It has to be applied in reasonable amounts and with heat. Low porosity (for pre poo) and allergy are the only reasons to be afraid of coconut oil, it's a great ingredient. Again, a conditioner with the oil is a whole different story, because it's liquified and emulsified . Avoiding glycerin is a huge loss too, because it creates the most glorious, bouncy curls in that perfect dew point window (around 40-60F or 4-16°C)! High aloe means quick drying time (especially great for high porosity!), but folks started saying it dries out the hair 😑 Too bad there is no panic where needed, like the Shea Moisture/Maui/Cantu lines, abusing pure oils, exclusive cowashing, not clarifying, overconditioning, hygral fatigue, fungal infections from wet plopping.

So I did the JJ Smith Green Smoothie cleanse several times and while I was consistent it made a huge difference in my health, hair, nails, skin, etc. Greens naturally are loaded with vitamins and nutrition that your body needs, it’s considered a super food. It basically goes back to Biblical days and how we were intended to live off of those natural foods. JJ Smith has a story of health conditions she had and changing to that lifestyle changed her life and cured her. She use to be on something like 25 meds a day. Look her up... her story and book really helped me understand the benefits. It increases energy, digestion, boost immune system, heart health, strengthens your bones, helps blood pressure, just overall health in general. The difference with smoothies vs cooked veggies, is you lose nutrients when it’s cooked. In smoothie form (organic preferably) you get all the nutrients. The fruit adds added nutrients as well, but mainly make the greens more pleasant and enjoyable. I regret falling off that lifestyle, because I look back and see how much it benefited. I had started back in August and when when I lost my cousin it derailed me, but I’m going back on it soon! JJ Smith’s book has many recipes and helped me understand it better. {sorry for the long comment lol}

Hi Ladies!!! My hair loves protein and I realized that I tend to gravitate towards the same products in my hair as LoriAnne. LoriAnne and I can be hair twins!!! Anyways, I love Curl Junkie products too and I've actually used the Curl Rehab moisturizing hair treatment in coconut gardenia as a One and Done. This is not a protein treatment but surprisingly the results were amazing. PS...I love Treatment Tuesdays!!! Great video.

Any "natural" oil can be used hot. Serums = a different beast.

I'm with LoriAnn with the Soultanicals DC buy Taylorann didnt mention any of their DC as her top items. TaylorAnn, is there a Soultanicals DC that is your favorite or that you like?
@MADCURLS5 жыл бұрын
There is no denying that Soultanicals has AMAZING deep conditioners, I’ve tried them and they are great! But I really don’t reach for them because LoriAnne loves them so much and we don’t have back ups, so I let her be the only one to use them so they don’t go as fast. -TA

Y’all make me want Miche so bad. I heard she is coming out with a custard styler? I am waiting for that and then I will get the whole line.

I definitely want to get the Briogeo one hopefully this month. I love The SheaMoisture masks. The only one I don’t like that I’ve tried is the raw she butter one because the smell, it smells so nasty ( cue Romeo Santos😂) and makes me nauseous. Right now I’m in love with the miche indulge and really liked the agave Maui Moisture mask.❤️

Heeey 106andie! I so agree about the the smell of the Raw Shea Butter dc --- it's like patchouli on steroids or something. Hope you're having a wonderful week, girlie.

Just started watching. My hair hates hates protein. I tried that miche protein DC and it made my hair sooo dry and hard ! The only protein deep conditioner my hair likes is the mielle mint protein DC it is sooooooooo moisturizing! Tay did you ever try it ? You said you brought it ? I just used the FRO DESPAIR OMG MY HAIR LOVED IT !!!!!! Left my hair soooooo soft !!! Lori just throw all the Soultancials deep conditioners on the list lmao

Krystle Garcia HA! Right?? Could I squeeze another one on the table?? No, Tay has not tried that dc yet. 😊

Its so interesting how different our hair is. The Mielle Mint made my hair so dry I had to redo it. Hopefully the Miche doesn't do that. I bought 2 of them because so many people rave about it.

Pamela Fitzpatrick I didn’t care for it. I’ll use it up though. I wish for the love of God Briogio would stop with the youtube commercials on every single video I watch since November. I was hoping it would run its course. 😩
