Wow! So many beauties to move but I would’ve done the same. Funny, me & a girlfriend of mine always talk about selling our houses & moving. We seriously will be out in our backyards with a shovel digging so many plants to move that we cannot do without. It would be a truck load. So I totally identified with this video. Great job you two! Bunnings have a recycle pot box, they are free if u want them, and you can return clean plastic pots after you replant them!

I didn't have to dig up plants but my apt flooded and I had to move over 300 plants out.....and then back about a month later along with a garage full of stuff that didn't mold....mostly by myself. My whole set up that I loved had to be changed. I lost so many plants in the combo move. It's almost a year later and I'm still not quite settled back in but I love restructuring my plant room. Totally not the same but I can relate.

I experienced plant burnout this year too. I would say that 80% of my outdoor potted plants (mostly succulents) have died or are so close to death that they’ll be binned when I have the energy to deal. I sold a heap of my Hoyas that were my obsession. However, human life goes on and balance will return… Love Tim’s safety thongs! Good luck with the move. And Xmas. Bloody hell, what an awful time to be moving. I hope the next home is more stable for you.

Seeing the garden coming apart and getting moved is so sad but exciting! Those mother of thousands: A freeze in a freezer and then a thaw or a cup of boiling water in a bucket should be fine if you stomp and pulverize the remains in the bag afterwards?

Hello, Shy! As a Yoga instructor and gardener I want to recommend you take the full Goddess squat position every now and then instead of the forward fold over straight legs position. Like if you use the straight leg position with the pitch fork, but then use the squat position to transport plant over to their pot that will both relieve stress from the low back and hamstrings AND keep your knees and ankles flexible. I love my garden as you do yours and I found that I’ve learned that we’re bent over so much that we have to mindful about our bodies. THANKS for the video. GOOD LUCK!

Moving top heavy plants definitely is hard. That Opuntia i definitely would have propagated it earlier the new growth at the top part. Especially plants that you have sentimental one and love alot. I am actually not looking forward to moving my plants when i have a forever house in the future. We live in a duplex apartment with 4 flight of stairs moving furniture is already bad enough. With no lift. Also we only have a car to move stuff so many times aswell. Not all countries have rental trucks to borrow. Even though a place is rented sometimes cannot help to feel sad when you leave as you had memories there.

When I got a divorce for the next few years it was moving, moving, moving. Each move the stuff got less as I threw out stuff. Still have too much stuff but hey it must be there for a reason…probably emotional attachment. I applaud your plant move!😊
