Personally I think that the reason you and James didn't get food poisoning (other than the fact that you didn't eat any of it) is because you are both from AZ. As a fellow AZ citizen the things in out water and air have just made us impervious to most poisons.

as someone who works at a hotel, the weird no visitor policies are often for security reasons and to help prevent things like drug dealers and human traffickers from making a base in the hotel! its also because people who don't pay for rooms like to come in to use the facilities or bother guests who don't want visitors.
