Would rather live the way you're living than in a multi-million dollar apartment in Manhattan - the patter of the rain on the roof, the closeness to nature, the view of the other yachts on the moorings, and your very happy dog... you're living a wonderful life...
@Dld19858 жыл бұрын
I've been a live aboard for about 16 years and one thing you notice is the majority of live aboard people are happy and very pleasant as in this video and many others. Difference I've found is when you live in an apartment or a house your neighbors may not have much in common with you so you sometime don't bond with them. Live aboard people come from all walks of life but there is one common bond they share is the love of their boats and being on the water. Believe me live aboard boaters no matter you find them will talk for hours to each other about their boats. You learn from each other and You help each other. On my dock the boat owners range from blue collar workers to CEO's and Doctors. If you see them all sitting together you wouldn't know who was the very poor or who was the very wealthy because it's about the boats and the water. Boaters are tight group and watch over each other way more so than most neighborhoods. I worked as a Executive for a Fortune 500 company and now I help my neighbors with the repairs on their own boats and it's simply wonderful. There's our world and then there's the outside world of traffic jams wirh red lights, speed limits and stop signs and worst of all road rage. It's not a life style for everyone. Yes, like any change in life you have to adapt. I say out every 10 that dry it only about 2 decide it wasn't for them. All i can you want see me living on dry land any time soon.

i did 18 months in san diego. i quickly discovered that very few people actually use their boats. many of the boats were unoccupied and unused. and when they used them, it was weekends and holidays. i think that folks were appreciative that someone was around to keep an eye on their boats. it was very quiet in the evenings.

Why? - what was the number one reason why you chose to live on your boat? Adventure? - i’ve seen many people discourage others from buying a boat to expensive money pit they’re dirty all the time the constant maintenance and upkeep should any of those really deter someone from doing this?

Love all you guys video's. Very informative for someone like me wanting to move over to that lifestyle. Some questions. The black water tanks do you have to go in to port to drain them often or are how large are the tanks. Im looking at a 77 Marine Trader 36 ft as a full time live aboard in FL. Also how do you do about internet and can you get internet while on a mooring ball or anchor? Do you like living on Neverland or Adrenalin better?

What do you do when the dog has to go out if you’re not at a marina? If you’re at anchor close to shore you’d be able to take the dinghy but what about when you’re underway? Do you have some potty pads? Or just deal with the mess and hose off the deck?

I would love to see a video with some of this info or I would be happy to read the answers here. cheers and BIG thumbs up.
