Our Trip Home In An RV/Final Night/Jonestown Hershey KOA + Bonus Footage Leaving For NJ

The Jonestown / Hershey KOA is a very easy on/off from I-81. The campground was following the Pennsylvania guidelines and rules during the Covid-19 pandemic. Masks were mandatory for all guests and staff. Check-in was curbside and an escort took us to our pull-thru site. Sites are large with a picnic table and fire ring. Many campers were taking advantage of being outdoors while still practicing social distancing and the camp store was open so we treated ourselves to some ice cream! The campground, located about 20 miles from Hershey Park, is in Licksdale PA and is on the Swatara Creek...perfect for fishing, boating or kayaking. The General Store offers a variety of meal choices for lunch and dinner. There is also a small menu of breakfast items. They are open year round and have many family friendly amenities. One of our favorite areas of this campground is along the Swatara Creek where trailers and 5th wheels were parked sideways to take full advantage of the river setting. Great place for exploring the Hershey area and all that Pennsylvania has to offer.

We are Rollin' Into Retirement! We’re Mike and Betty Ann Dalberg from NJ! About 10 years ago we came up with a plan that included retirement at age 66.

The Swatara (or the Swatty as us locals call it) is a creek, not a river. It’s so interesting to see what travelers experience and see from their perspective. There is a also a very nice campground a short distance down the road called Twin Grove. You can either take 72 out further or you can get off at the next exit...Pine Grove exit 100 ..of 81 north. Its a little nicer than this campground. I was raised in and lived area
