Our Trip To Mahabalipuram |Wedding Celebrations and Sightseeing Trip to Mahabalipuram.
We had come to Mahabalipuram to attend a destination wedding. So we decided to do some sightseeing too. Our aunt really enjoyed dancing the outing and she danced and enjoyed herself as you can see from the videos
The Group of monuments which are a UNESCO World Heritage site are in close proximity. Wear good walking shoes and walk from one place to the other or hire an auto to take you around.
We drove from Bangalore via Chittoor - some work is going on still at the highway but still we made good time. Stopped for breakfast and a couple of toilet stops for the seniors.
For sightseeing, better to park your car at the Shore temple parking and walk or take an auto. See the Shore temple, then walk to Arjuna’s penance, then the five rathas, the Mahishasura Mardini Temple and Krishna’s butter ball. There are over 40 monuments to see . Plan according to the time you have.
For shopping local handicrafts is best - may be some stone sculptures or hand made leather items.
We stayed at Shelter Beach resorts and enjoyed ourselves.
