Our Trip to Sihanoukville, Cambodia - New Expressway and Sokha Beach Resort 2023

Early this year, we made a trip out to Sihanoukville traveling on the newly built expressway which cuts travel time from five hours to two from Phnom Penh. We spent a night at the Sokha Beach Resort and we want to share how beautiful this place is.

Great video ❤ I miss the old charm of Sihanoukville. It’s sad that the Chinese investments have pushed out the locals and have replaced much of quaint seaside town with casinos ( money laundering).

Wouldn’t say there are no Cambodian food restaurants at all, but it’s just hard to find some in the main part of the city. But yeah, not a bad idea!

The resort is by the beach, no street crossing needed. I believe there are a lot of other restaurant options nearby, but we wanted something more Cambodian authentic, so New Beach restaurant which was mentioned in the video is highly recommended.

This is a shit place now. No tourist, dirty, unfinished buildings. It is now called the Abandoned Chinese city in Cambodia. Another Chinese colonial failure (like Forest city in Malaysia)
