Hi guys... Love what you are doing. Do you have the details of the Ferry from Piraeus (Athens) to Chios and then onto Cesme. I'm currently at a loss trying to find the prices of these ferries and the companies. Awaiting your travels to Albania..
@Walter_on_Tour6 ай бұрын
Hi Ade ! Thanks for your message, so pleased you liked our video ! We booked through Sunrise Tours in Chios - link to follow. It’s best to call them and they will ask you to email with details of what you require. FYI - ferry times in winter are not available until nearer the time - we couldn’t book until 4 weeks ahead. They booked both ferry crossings for us - you have to pick up your tickets at the terminals both in Piraeus, then in Chios. Turyol is another company that I understand does this crossing. Hope that helps ! Any other questions just ask. 😀

Thank yous so much... Obviously prices change, do you have a approximate price you paid.. We have a 6.5m motorhome. We love the Peloponnese part of Greece and would prefer keep south and take the ferries to Cesme. Thanks
@AdeTims6 ай бұрын
We know Pireaus well when we sailed to Crete (winter 2019/20). Regards to Turkey, We were unsure that we could go with the Motorhome. But it now being possible, it saves me going to the cold North of Greece in January en-route Turkey... Of course I'm expecting to pay more than driving around to Turkey.. Thanks again.

@@AdeTims Walter is 6.5m. From memory we think we paid £454 in total to cross by the two ferries. Like you, we were in the Peloponnese and didn’t want to drive all the way round. We worked it out for diesel and tolls driving all the way around would’ve cost about £190! So the ferry option was better to save time. Doing the Schengen shuffle, it gave us more time in the south of Greece. 🇬🇷 👌😊

What is the off grid camping like, or did you always go to camp sites for overnights?
@Walter_on_Tour7 ай бұрын
Hi there. Thanks for the question. We much prefer “off grid / free camping” 95% of the time. We found Turkey really great for free camping. People were really friendly and we felt safe. Mainly using the Park4Night app we find suitable, safe and quiet parking. (well Eileen does!!) .. only occasionally we will stop for a night at a paid campsite.. 😎👍

@@Walter_on_Tour Thank you for the swift reply much appreciated, I will tell you why.. I went to Fethiye 2 years ago on a package holiday for 2 weeks and I loved it. I made a few friends there who are ex pats and they have invited me to come across in my RV, but I will have to camp wild as my friends don't have the parking space for my Fiat Ducato, so will have to free camp and it scares me a little to do that but am prepared to have a go. Its such a long drive from Scotland from where I live to Türkiye. Any way I have decided to grasp the nettle and to set off in May sometime. Any advice you have will be appreciated. Thanks again, I have subscribed.
@Walter_on_Tour7 ай бұрын
Thanks very much for the subscription Paul! Much appreciated . Walter is also a Fiat Ducato 😍 6.5m long and we have no problems “fitting in “ parking areas. We loved Fethyie - take a look at our recent vlog of there if you haven’t already. We would say that out of season “free parking “ is much easier, as places are quieter. We also use search for sites and just google maps to find places. There are also paid parking areas that are cheaper than campsites as they have less facilities - they are a good option too. Look at reviews on all of the above and get feel for the area. If one of use doesn’t like it our rule is we move. The campervan community you find around you are usually very welcoming and supportive - help is always close by. Scotland to Turkey is a long go way ! But take the journey as slow as you can, don’t travel too long in one go and enjoy the journey too, not just the destination ! You will have a blast we have no doubt . If we can help at all or you have any questions along the way - just shout ! 😀

@@Walter_on_Tour One thing I forgot to ask about, I have LPG refillable bottles which I fill at petrol stations using the bayonetted nozzle mostly here in UK.. so what's it like in Türkiye for LPG or do they just have the swappable bottles?

DO YOU NEED OR GET A 90 DAY VISA WHEN ENTERING TURKEY

Thanks for the question. For us, we were allowed 90days maximum stay with the vehicle on our UK passports, without having to get any other visa or administration. Hope that helps !
