Grinnelli's hypotheticals for their marathon hockey challenge were out of this world. Hit 50 posts in a row?? Hit 10 center ice shots in the tiny shooter tutor?? He's out of his mind. Hitting a free throw is so much easier than those things. The task itself needs to be easy. The difficulty needs to be the streak. The shooter tutor picking each corner is the best idea because doing that once isn't the most difficult but it will take a while to do it let's say 20 times in a row. But throw Grinnelli's ideas in the trash unless you wanna do the challenge until your all in retirement homes.

I think there is gold in the “tournament” idea. Hockey is built on tournaments at every level from mites up and even in college, you got the bean pot and frozen four where you get the most eyes. Why not the NHL? Make it an event. Regional tourneys. A Great Lakes Tourney (chi/det/cbj/min). West Coast (Ana/la/sj/sea). Etc and so on. A weekend tournament event. I mean freaking medieval tournaments was where it was at back then. Let’s get medieval haha
