True, but also vert is much more of an acquired skill I think. And it was also a dying art for many years. Those two things together helped many older riders stay on top. The types of riding that dominate park today are somehow simultaneously more accessible (meaning they can be mastered without decades of experience) and more insane (900s and quad whips are commonplace), which sounds like a paradox but somehow it is not.

Curious on China's BMX men progression not seeing any other chinese rider except for one(?) China's women riders are killing it in their division. Are the chinese men/women riders proportionate in their progression that the men has still to catch up with the level of international mens level of progression?
