However I do know when I have been introduced to a great human being, no matter what the color skin that person happens to have. I feel like I have just been introduced to one of the best of the best as I have just met Mr. Josiah Henson. After watching and learning about him and his struggles, faith and triumphs, this has to be the most inspirational people who ever walked on earth. Inspirational to every culture if learned. He was still quite literally an Uncle Tom. His acts near his death do not change that for me. Uncle Tom is BIGGER as a symbolic figure than Josiah Henson. Let's take Malcolm's X example of what a Uncle Tom or House Neg*o was shall we? Henson was an overseer for his white master. Check. When field slaves would run to him and tell him to run away, 'what place is better than here.' Denied his comrades freedom because of his blind incompetent loyalty to monsters and cowardice. He was very well a Uncle Tom by nothing else of definition.

Jenny Wren. Yes, ashamed. Shame is a very real and necessary emotion to help us grow in love, compassion and disciplines us to learn how to respect each other. Many of us behave the way we do because we have not learned how to deal with the emotion of shame. It is delusional to think that Mr. Josiah Henson never felt shame when opportunity was there for him to make different decisions. He learned better about the human nature of men and chose to do better and make a difference. This is a powerful lesson that stems from the emotion of shame. Be blessed!

I look at some of my black brothers and sisters today, especially the youth, drop out of school or have no desire to further their education. They end up with low paying jobs and want to cry racism without putting forth an effort to try and better their life. I'm hoping and praying for the youth of today.

The only way forward is to let go of your emotion. Forgiveness is the only thing that can set anyone free. If you can't forgive, you'll continue to be a slave to your emotions and thoughts. American slavery wasn't anywhere close to as brutal as the slavery in the Roman times or even the 1940s in the middle east. The only reason you're able to feel bad about American slavery is because we've abolished it and reject any good about it.

No. We were taught the right phrase. Henson literally did EVERYTHING afforded to a House Neg*o that Malcolm X would articulate many years later. He was an overseer, several occasions his actions were the root cause why his people suffered greatly or died in the south... Nah he was the Uncle Tom described by many Black Nationalists activists.

What do you think God thought of prayer in school when black people were told they couldn't go to school with whites? Where was He in that? How long did we think this could go on as a nation ? Prayer changes things! God is not in hypocrisy! You can't continue to treat people horribly..pray...say the commandments and then say ...Oh, separate but equal and think God is in the schools.!!!!! Come on and remember that He is a just God. If we begin to treat others how we want to be treated, maybe we can begin to get some where. Prayer in school to Christ is needed! Lets do it right this time without all the discrimination!

In my school in London UK in the early 70's, we learned all about the Slave Trade, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Mrs Harriet Beecher Stowe and Mr Frederick Douglas who has remained a hero of mine. Then we all watched "Roots" and Miss Jane Pitman on TV which had a tremendous impact on us and lead to many vibrant discussions in class. We also started the school day with hymns and prayer. We were classed as "poor" kids but we were lucky that we had a good mix of old skool teachers and young progressive's.
