Is it possible to punch chipboard for make covers? Or only plastic? :)

I would say only plastic.I think anything more would be too thick.

Can you use this machine for hanging calendars ? Able to deactivate some of the middle holes?

No, I don't think so. You can create calendars pretty cheap with lulu.com

Have you done the binding on the top side rather than the left side to create a workbook/booklet using this machine?

I guess you could do that if you cut the comb binds to the correct size or find them in that length. Not a bad idea!
