That breakfast looked so yummy, and then you added hash browns to put it way over the top! I realize that you have made tons more biscuits than I ever will, but my understanding has always been to put the cutter straight down and up without twisting it. Evidently the twisting motion tends to seal the edges and interferes with rising. Has that ever been an issue for you?

Hi sweetie I'm an old lady who's been making sausage gravy for a long time and I want to share my secrets with you on how to make your sausage gravy taste even better. After you make your gravy add your sausage in with your gravy and add a teaspoon of sugar. Ok for your biscuits you should handle the dough more gently and have the butter in chunks in your dough to make your biscuits more flaky. Never twist your Mason jar when cutting out your biscuits. Push down and straight up. It makes your biscuits rise higher when they are baking. You need to add more milk to your dough. It looked very dry. If you use half butter and half shortening they would turn out so flaky and beautiful.
