Hey Jim! That's really cool a simple sensor for your solar system!! How are you enjoying your Tesla batteries and did you connect and set up your power grid all on your own or did you have an electrician come out for any of it?? Great video and thank you for sharing!! We hope you're having a great week!!
@ourselfreliantlife5 жыл бұрын
The Tesla batteries are nice, and have been working well. I did a lot of the work myself with wiring up the panels and running it out to the shed. If you're familiar with Handeeman, he came and helped hook up the equipment in the shed. It was a huge help and got us running a lot quicker than if I tried doing it myself.😀 Thank you so much for stopping by.🙏
@blossomsandbundles5 жыл бұрын
That's pretty cool that your using Tesla batteries! What do you think about keeping your batteries under ground to keep the temperature more even?
@ourselfreliantlife5 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting idea. It would have to be in a way no moisture could get in. We could also build out the earthen walls of the shed to increase the thermal mass. That may work too. Thank you!🙏
@dannyandrose5 жыл бұрын
Alright , got through the whole playlist ... You missed some points of interests ... Like ; The watts per panel 12/24v ? I caught a visual of the controller model number but the only thing on the inverter box ( barely caught it ) was Conext SW .... No model number on the front .. Alright , Appreciate the info ....

Very Nice, That seemed easy. I watch a lot of channels that use solar. It seems very complicated to me. Just curious, when you 1st went Solar did it seem overwhelming to you, or was it pretty simple?
@ourselfreliantlife5 жыл бұрын
Definitely overwhelming! I think taking on anything new, especially of this magnitude, it can be daunting. Having gone through it, I can look back and realize it wasn't too bad. I did a bunch of it myself, but I did have some help with the wiring which saved a ton of time. It can definitely be done by anyone that's up for trying though.👍

@gbengadaniel30695 жыл бұрын
Well nice video presentation but this is quite not safe to attach your sensor to the battery terminal for 2 reasons: 1. The terminal cannot give the accurate temperature of the battery especially when the terminal is rigged via a busbar as shown in your video. 2. Attaching the temp sensor to a terminal can blow up your charge controller and inverter if the internal wiring get corrosive and bridges internal or otherwise. That is why later manufactural of battery temp sensor no longer attach ring for terminal hookup. Finally I strongly recommend that sensor be dropped in the battery chamber for securing your charge controller and inverter pls don’t attach to any of the terminal either + or - Thanks

@ourselfreliantlife5 жыл бұрын
I just found out about it! I was reading the book and it said how it came with a sensor. Liam contacted me and said it's not really critical with Li-ion batteries. It's just good to know sometimes. That may be why we didn't attach it when setting it up. I wanted to get it on there though, I figure better safe than sorry.😁👍
