Hello sweet friend. I loved everything but the burlap sacks stole my heart. My son bought me a old burlap coffee sack stamped and was from Vietnam. I guess because I had friends in that war that it means so much to me. The lady didn’t want to sell it but he convinced her that his mom really needed it. @@ourshabbycottage8553 I have this old calendar. I looked up what it was worth, not much turns out. The pictures are wonderful and the calendar part is really cool too. So I have been holding on to it thinking there's something I can do this or something. So thank you for making me feel like I didn't waste my time holding on to it dragging it from place to place. Christmas wil be a breeze. I have an idea for you. At the dollar store they always have these single 8x5 x 4 thin wood single drawers. Using just regular glue I covered it with ripped up pieces of like an old book and worried was down for the garbage. I did it about a year ago and it's still holding and it looks really cool and fortunately I spelled something wrong on top so I never gave it to the person that was going to give it to I just kept it but it looks really me but you can put all kinds of stuff on it obviously. They're really cheap and it would be a great way to present a gift inside and the people that receive the gift can use the drawer for something else. Sorry if my spelling is bad I truly apologize I try so hard it's just my phone is a little broken and it keeps changing my words even when I send things.

Just go to Home Depot and get and get burlap. It may come in a roll or it may come just in a rectangular bag. It s used around here in Ontario to cover up bushes during the winter so they don't get killed. I Even a person who doesn't normally sew could pull this off. Or bring your mother or your grandmother some flowers and ask them if they could sew this for you. You might be pleasantly surprised at how clever your mother and grandmother are ,because my mother used to make her own clothes she had no choice. My mother was brought up during the second World War. Old school baby

@@ourshabbycottage8553 I could not agree with you more. When I first got into nursing I worked in a nursing home. A woman used to come in and sit with her husband and crochet all day. One day I sheepishly asked her if she could show me and she did. I have been crocheting for over 25 years now, but I'm still not as good as she is. I have spent a great deal of time with the older generation, and they are by far my favourite people. They have the greatest stories. Insane War stories that if I told you you wouldn't believe. I've met men who have actual flack in them ( believe it or not I can't actually look up the appropriate spelling for Flack) One man actually got flack in him while he was flying in a Lancaster bomber. Look up Lancaster you'll freak out. A 98 year old woman had a job that she wasn't even allowed to tell her friends and family. For fear the enemy might find out what her job was and she would be have been killed for it. The thing that I love the most about the older generation is if you have a problem they can solve it with clear concise advice.
