The woodland instruments are called बाँसुरी (baansuri). They are similar to flutes and is made of bamboos. There are many different types of baansuri based on there length, girth and number of holes in it and the quality of sound.

Finally! Been waiting for this since the Interstellar reaction. Did you notice the part where they showed Ariadne folding the cityscape, the video did the same with buildings behind the Sarangi player (the violin like instrument)? This video is brilliant! The flutes are called Bansuri or Venu. Different sizes are used for different scales i believe.

Rick and Korbin, The flute is called a Bansuri. Apparently, of the first three flutes in history, the the Indian flute, bansuri, was the only one played sideways, or transversely. All three of the original three cultures to produce flutes, Egypt, Greece, and India, had flutes that are played vertically like a whistle.
