This is the classical dance artform is Bharatanatyam from the state of Tamil Nadu. The ankelets are called ghunghroos. When the artist first ascends the stage to perform , the Guru conducts a pooja of the ghunghroos. This item is called Tillana (til aa naa), it's the concluding item of the Bharatnatyam Margam or repertoire. This specific piece is set to Ragam Brindavani. The music base for a few classical dance forms like Bharatnaym, Kuchipudi, Mohinattam, Kathakali is Carnatic music. This specific Tillana is demonstrating the rasleela or dancing between Lord Krishna and Radha. Theres another youtube channel that does a lot of content on classical dance and music called 'Indian Raga'. Do check them out

The deep bend is called Aramandi (Araa mun de) in Bharatnatyam. Love that you had such a keen eye on the geometric pattern of movements and body stances. this is very characteristic of just Bharatnatyam. I am not a classical dance expert, infact I know very little about it, but the title and the hand gestures clearly suggested it was an enactment of the life of Lord Krishna in Vrindavan ("Brindavani" in the title) with his consort Radha. It absolutely captured the playfulness, flirtiness, the joy by which Lord Krishna is depicted during his time in Vrindavan.

Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest dance forms of india and it originated in Tamil Nadu... It is said to have been performed by Lord Shiva and Parvati themselves. In bharatanatyam: "bha" means bhavam ( emotion ) , "ra" means Raagam (music/tune) , "tha" means taalam (rhythm)

Thillana is the last performance of a full length Dance ballet. There r many Thillanas based on different Ragas and composition dedicated to different Divine forms. Here it was dedicated to Sri Krishna- hence the flute ,swing etc raga Bhrindavana . Incidentally a place associated with Krishna's life time. 🙏

This item is very structured usually starts with the head, neck and shoulder movements (Mei adavus). Followed by various food works usually in three kalams (Speed's) which glorified by various jumping and elaborated food work. This items usually completed by small swara, sakithiyam ( 2 to 4 Lines). Thousand's of thillana's have been created and performed but the traditional 'Thanjavur Quartet' compositions are very popular among the Bharathanatyam dancers.

I've learnt this dance from my Guru and to maintain that level of stamina for 10 minutes is super hard... They did variation here of the Thillana Brindavani that they learnt 😁 A thillana is always performed at the end of a performance and always physical but you can't show that you're tired at any moment since that's what the public will remember most 😅 The salangai is what they wear at their feet. In Indian classical dance, the feet are also an instrument and those emphasize the sound and rhythm of the dance 😉

I learnt very little classical dance, but one of the first things they teach you is the foot tap that gives out the sound. It's neither the heel nor the toes that make the sound, but the centre of the foot or the arch of the foot. Actually it's the soft skin on the arch that gives out the loud sound. The foot itself doesn't hurt. Secondly, tapping your heels hard doesn't give the clap sound. It would more be a thud.

He is Russian, I think Larissa is Russian/Ukranian. The dance is about the divine love between Radha and Krishna. Krishna represents GOD and Radha humanity. When Krishna blows on his flute (symbolically meaning when GOD calls, man must come), Radha drops everything and runs to HIM. I am not Indian but read this up. Really beautiful. Men wear them. It emphasises that the dancers can keep time with the music. This is an ancient story.

Thillana is an onamatopoeia like cuckoo and other words formed from the sound. You can listen to the singer continuously doing a rhythm with syllables like 'Thim, Thanana,'. Both of you were correct when you said it is like tap dance. Basically it is equivalent to western ballet. The dancers are trying to tell the story of how God Krishna and Radha are doing a duet in Brindavan. In the Indian culture the universe and creation is seen as an interplay of masculine and feminine forces, like the Eastern yin and yang. Even Shiva and Parvathi do the dance in their abode Kailash. Anklets are worn by women but what you see here are called 'Gajjelu'(Telugu word for Ghungroo). The 'gajjelu' are worn by a dancer no matter the gender because they are part of the musical process like the shoes of tap dance. I doubt whether the dance form is Kuchipudi or Bharatanatyam. Since the song is 'Telugu' the dance form may be 'Kuchipudi'. But I can be wrong.
