Another way to think about having to hire outside help, you're helping them and their family by hiring them. Double win

This is so true. I've been out of full time/permanent work for literally years now. (I won't say how many, it's too embarrassing.) The way I've made it the past few years has been through various friends hiring me to help with housework and child care. You are right, it's been a double win. It's not only helped me financially, but the true blessing for me has been becoming a part of these children's young lives. I am single (NOT by choice) and have no kids. I adore all of these kids as though they were my own.

@@Yesica1993 I feel like we have a similar life experience. I always wanted many children and a healthy strong Christian family. I was a nanny for years while I studied at University. In 2000 I was engaged to be married but the man was abusing me, physically, mentally and sexually. I never wanted to give my heart to any man again so I'm 41 and single. I was a primary school teacher and a foster Mum. Nine years ago when I was 32 my doctors gave me two years to live (I've been sick since I was a child but the complications that came from having all but 1 metre of my intestine removed were extensive). So I had to stop working and fostering which was soul destroying. My Nephew had just been born in New Zealand where we are from but they moved back to England when he was 9 months old. The thought of never seeing my precious nephew again was heart wrenching. It made be force feed myself and learn how to cope with excessive pain etc. I hope that you find an amazing man who wants children with you and you get to fulfill your dreams. Always remember how amazing you are. God bless you and Merry Christmas. XOXOX

I don't know how non Christians cope with life. I'm terminally ill and God has been by myside every step of the way. As much as my health allows I look for situations where I can help someone. It is a way for me to try to serve our Lord. Xx

God gives us what we need when we need it. I am 74 dealing with a 96 yo mother in a memory care facility that fell and broke her femur in Oct who is now dealing with significant bedsores. I am with her everyday helping feed her but my own duties are not getting done at home which is stressing me. I am going to hire someone to come clean my home b/c I'm too tired at the end of the day to do it myself. My energy now is with my mom who is in hospice. Thank-you Sarah for giving me a solution to peace! This vlog was AMAZING! and I can still stay in my lane!!! Yay!!

Sarah - My life is so so different from yours. My 3 kids are grown and at 73, my life is mostly behind me. I watch Our Tribe of Many because of what I learn from you and Solo about navigating through this life with faith and love -- lessons for all of us regardless of background. Your Dealing With Stress post today affected me more than any of your many previous posts -- and I've loved them all! Do more of these kind of talks, Sarah. It was a sermon without being a sermon. You preached without being preachy. Your message was heartfelt and riveting. YOU were riveting. Thank you.

I am a 60 year old mom of zero, although my husband has 2 adult children and a 5 year old grandson. Going through my adult years watching my siblings have kids, I had to realize we needed to accept as many children as God would give us, even if that meant none. That said, I find you a wonderful encouragement, and I watch for your videos. In a previous comment on an earlier video, I committed to praying for you and your family and your church, every day. I am a born again Christian for about 45 years, and I have a personal ministry of prayer for homeschool children. I have about 80 on my list including all 10 of yours. I wanted to encourage you today. I live a life of trying to be content in whatsoever state I am in. That helps me with my stress. God bless you!

I felt guilty getting a cleaner as someone single without kids. But I work very long hours and felt my whole weekend was spent doing washing and cleaning. Getting a cleaner once a fortnight to do my bathrooms and floors it costs me so little less than 2 hours of the cleaners time and allows me to spend time decompressing from my week. I wish I had done it sooner!

Amen to all you said! I am a mother of 8. We homeschool and do all the things. I've learned over the years that life is not an emergency and we need to enter into the season that we are in. Often and I'll speak for myself we long for a different season but embracing the season and ALL that it pertains is truly freeing. I love that you seek the Lord for wisdom. I do the same and he has faithfully guided me through even the smallest of trials and snags. He cares about the laundry, the schooling, the house work and your relationship with your spouse! Absolutely Sarah. I can relate to so much you have talked about. I have been always an over achiever since I can remember. Then I started working, raising my children, taking care of my home, husband, teaching Sunday school, youth leader, 4H leader, my mom and dad's home. I just couldn't sleep. I was exhausted, I prayed Lord what is going on, my life is like the energized bunny. Everyone kept saying girl you need to slow down. Working only for a couple months full time, I became injured at work, I was devastated, my entire life came to a halt. I have been totally disabled for 16 years, I have been sooo stressed and depressed. After 27 years of marriage my husband left saying he wasn't happy, that he was leaving. It was like what now Lord. He says he will not give you more than you can bare. My divorce dragged on for almost 3 years, the family was in turmoil, I had no idea how to make it on my own with a very limited income. The one thing I can say, prayer, God's telephone line, faith, and unconditional love. I don't have much, but what I do have is priceless. God's amazing Grace and mercy. I have no idea how anyone lives without Him. Thank you for letting the Lord use you, your husband, and family. Watching and waiting for my ticket on that gospel ship to my forever home. Prayers and Love

You go girl!!! I’m 51 4’11 and full of boredom now. I raised 3 biological children and 3 of there friends that I fed and never went back to there own home. They are all grown now some with families of there own. I lived the chaos!! Like you I function really well with the busyness of life and have much patients. I now feel stressed because I don’t have the feeling of usefulness in my life. Raising, sharing life and loving children is what my calling has been my whole life. I was raised in a foster home as a young teenager after my mother died, didn’t know my father. So now I feel the calling to become a foster to adopt parent and my 22 yr old son wants to do it with me. Some say I’m crazy, but I truly feel that God is talking to me to do it. There are so many children in need of a loving family to grow into happy people. Watching your channel shows a great model for me to learn from in my journey to building a new large family. Thank you for sharing. Much love and respect. From far Northern California Kerry Jane

Amen. I am alone now and feel as though I should be able to take care of myself. When I had some new physical challenges I knew I had to get help. Now, one day a month a group of four or five ladies arrive at my door with everything they need to clean my house. Even the rooms that don’t get used regularly get dusted and vacuumed and in an hour my mirrors and glass tops sparkle and my kitchen and bathrooms look like new and my ladies say good bye with a smile and I feel great. Best money I spend all month. Come summer I am going to hire someone to do the same outside. Then the stress of weeds will be gone. And as one commenter said, I help to relieve the stress those people have over providing for their families. Win-win. Merry Christmas everyone.

Sometimes I think you make videos just for me😉 and they are so helpful! I feel you on the stress management. We had a baby boy 11/2/19 who ended up needing heart surgery at 10 days old on our oldest daughters 9th birthday. Woowee did that throw me off! Now he may be discharged while still having a feeding tube, yikes! Even with all of that I mostly worry about my 2 year old sharing me. The thing that gets me through is just knowing that this storm too shall pass.... then comes the rainbow🌈

While you spoke very generally about stress I am pretty sure that almost every single person who watched this video took something and it hit home for them. That is completely the case for me in multiple areas being a full time working mom of 1 with another one on the way in 7 weeks. I am very stressed about my husband being gone so much for his job (police officer working nights) but I know this is a temporary stress. We will work through this. I am blessed with his support and a great marriage that I think I really can take that for granted of what we do have. While I am overwhelmed after I get home from work taking care of our children and home by myself I am grateful I have these problems. I am so grateful I have a home to clean and a beautiful, crazy, healthy toddler to care for that occasionally drives me nuts LOL. Thank you Sarah. These words are what my heart needed. Thank you for not putting this off any longer, it was exactly what I needed.

Thank you for this video. I have been hording my stress for sometime now and don't know how to respond properly or to deal with it anymore. You made some wonderful suggestions for me to take away, but mostly a mindset that I have forgotten to have. The reminder of is it short or long term is such a great reminder to categorize and prioritize whether things should need your stress over it.

This video came at such a crucial time for me. I am a stay at home mom of one (relatively difficult) 8 month old baby boy. I live many hours away from my family and my husband works in the oil field for 20 days of the month. I’ve struggled a lot since having my son with being alone so much. But just yesterday I decided enough was enough. I have to stop being a complainer and instead realize my blessings in this season. Thanks for this wonderful message.

Sarah, Thank you for sharing all that you did in this video. Love how you speak in a calm and down to earth manner. Your channel is such a blessing to so many of us! As a homeschooling mama of 4 and pregnant with the 5th, I’m constantly so encouraged and also humored (when you and Solo make funny videos) by your approach and family. Blessings from Colorado!

Goodness this is such a good word! Thank you so much. I sat and cried from stress twice today and I’m not much of a crier. You’re right. If it is causing to long term stress, something has to change.
