The reason why the damage scaling with shard of alexander goes up as you level is very simple. Shard of alexander only buffs the damage of the aow itself and not the destined death debuff which will always drain a percentage health. At low lvl the aow dmg is very low so destined death will be doing most of the work, showing very little increase. As you start to lvl up and upgrading your weapon the actual dmg part will start to take over

Somthing i also noticed while trying to work with destined death, the incantation gets more damage if you use the claw seal since it scales off strength. Outside that im very interested in this build. But id love to see a black flame build. Just to get an outside perspective.

FGMS will only give +13% not +20%. The weapon is split holy and physical. physical is about 3/5 of the total damage and holy is 2/5. (1.2)*(3/5)+(2/5)=1.13=113% damage aka +13% total damage. Howl of Shabriri would however boost the total damage by 25% since it boosts all damage types and it lasts 10s longer (+33% longer). The downside is 18 higher faith requirement and +30% damage taken. FGMS also gives 11% stamina regen speed. FGMS > Howl if you usually take more hits to bosses and play more defense (for example with deflection tear). Howl > FGMS if you want to kill bosses faster (more damage).

(The +13% damage is only if u use it with this weapon, malekiths black blade. for pure physical damage or split physical and fire it will be +20% damage). For example the coded sword wich is 100% holy damage, FGMS wont give any damage buff (+0%)

I wish it wasn't SO heavy and slow; makes it pretty much irrelevant with certain quick paced enemies, generally going back to the Ralying Standard, it's pretty quick for such a RAW damage weapon and its range is amazing + looks fab

I also suggest to use the crouch/roll attack cuz is a poke that deals piercing damage with the max weapon range, everyone know pierce damage and counter attacks are broken in this game and use this poke attack with the others can output a ton of damage, especially paired with the separ talisman. Nice video

at level 200, what would be the best stats for dealing raw damage and not worrying about defence and guard counters? I have the blade at +10 and strength and faith at 65 each. My damage isn't that good hough. I'm missing some of the dlc talismans but still underwhelming imo

Here is the stat distribution i would recommend for 200 with damage in mind: 50 Vigor, 10 Mind, 40 Endurance, 60 Strength, 40 Dexterity, 60 Faith. Make sure you two hand the weapon and use the heavy attack not the normal hits for damage. In the DLC, make sure you Scadu level is not very low so you are just hitting blanks.

Holy damage aows are bugged with Alexander shard till further notice, evidently. Some of the data mining content creators bumped into the glitch

The first build and the weapon in general stagger bosses a lot. When you execute a riposte, you get that 20% damage boost. A riposte or a critical hit in Elden Ring is when you stagger the boss and they kneel down then you perform that excution. It happens very often if you land hits consistently.

For high damage take the stats to 80. Not 60. U can keep strength at 54 if u 2 hand tho. 80 in Strength, Dexterity and Faith. Get more Mind too. 10 is ridiculous. Get AT LEAST 20. Remember, points are free.

nah i used all kinds of weapons, but I always go back to BHF; it hits like a truck without any buffs and has the most fun ash of war, like it really makes fighting bosses fun if you time it well. Plus it has an innate higher jump attack and even bleed.

48 Endurance is just an embarrassment. Dude, you don’t need 101 poise. Such a waste of levels. That’s why u need 48 End - because everything is so damned heavy. And this isn’t a guard counter build so why recommend the Deflect tear? You even said ur intro ur gonna be spamming charged heavies & the WA?? So the Spiked tear + the Str tear, unless ur taking Str to 80 (which you should do on this build) then go with the Holy Shrouding tear. Or throw the Winged Crystal tear in there and fast roll with a colossal sword and a full armor set. Deflect tear on this build again makes no sense. And why in the world would you use the Blade of Mercy talisman and not the dagger talisman? Makes zero sense. Swap out the bull goat talisman for the dagger talisman. All you need is 51 poise. You are using an Ultra Greatsword!!!! Which has a ton of hyper armor. You’re way way too reliant on poise. It’s overkill. 51 poise is all that’s needed… Just a recommendation but it seems like you should just recommend one build and just make it do as much damage as possible. Elden Ring is a game about jacking up the offense as much as possible. All this manufactured poise and endurance is just a waste & unnecessary

I'm going to answer your valid questions and ignore the rest of the BS, that is just how you are as a person. If you don't want to be interrupted while landing hits, especially the heavy attakc for more damage, you need that 101 poise. You will be able to poise through boss attacks better. The build aims for consistency with damage. Consistent mid damage is just as good as inconsistent high damage. The first build is a poise break build. The second build is a guard counter build. Don't confuse the two. The first will stagger bosses a lot and will benefit from everything used. You being able to stagger a boss faster is more valuable than Holy shrouding cracked tear that buffs ONLY 33% of the weapon's damage. By staggering a boss, blade of mercy gives you a 20% damage increase that is MULTIPLICATIVE with other buffs. Every hit after the crit, will sky rocket in damage rather than a 17% to a capped critical hit. The guard counter build works really well with the sword, it has great range for the counter, which you wont even consider. But is important for a deflection build. The sword's raw damage is high and with up to 80% from a counter attack, hits will hit like a truck. Everything lese works around that. If you like to play a certain way, it DOES NOT make any of these builds "bad". You just fail to see their effectiveness due to your "light roll dual wield jump bleed style". Have a good day.
