How does one live with oneself? What does one do with one’s guilt? To dehumanize one must already be dehumanized. How does one dehumanize someone as stunningly beautiful as this ? I loved “Black Girl”. A recorded reality of the ugliness of the human heart. History is preserved as a witness against all perpetrators. Laid bare before the God who sees!

Could anyone tell me what ethnicity is the mask? I am a lover of African art but it is difficult for me to understand what ethnicity it is precisely. Seems like a Bambara, Bamana or Bozo mask but I'm not sure. Does anyone know better than me?

Never heard of this film but it sounds very insightful. As an African American the difference between African immigrants who immigrate to Europe, Canada or the U.S. is that they are discovering they are black when they get to these Western places but black Americans are born into double consciousness. We realize race very early whereas Africans depend on tribal affiliations and nationality so it can actually be harder for them to come to terms with what race is and how it affects every aspect of their life outside of their countries and even in their countries because until this day foreigners come to Africa and window for wives, throw cameras in their faces for vlogs on social media. The traces of colonialism is very obvious to me but even now many Africans will say that racism doesn't exist in Africa not realizing how indirectly they still face racism.
