150 years, this model of american steam locomotive can also turns 150, 160 or 170 years old now, the American type or 4-4-0 American standard is of 1848 1850 in the first models
@giuliopedrali47945 күн бұрын
American type (1850 1890 American standard 4-4-0 locomotive) are so different from european steam locomotive of second half of XIX century, but the thing so not european (under our european point of view) is the drivers seat...

It sure is great to see an operating steam locomotive at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City. I’ve also heard about a big railroad event to take place there in 2026 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America.

No tie plates nor ballast on that track?
@jacobgreve8024 күн бұрын
Believe it or not, that's how track was laid for the transcontinental railroad. This track is temporary, and not really intended for long term use. It is just in place for the event, and afterwards it will be removed. You don't need ballast or tie plates, just to lay track, you only need them, if the track is permanent. The tracks on the transcontinental for example, after the completion were quickly upgraded time permitting.

its burning wood but now days high quality fire wood is easier to get than high quality coal. Coal sources are coming to end as coal mining industry is winding down.
