The square thing with the X on it is part of an old mailbox lock.

Wow that's pretty awesome!! It does kind of look like it could be the housing of an old padlock! Thanks for the help on the ID I'm pretty sure you're on the right track.

That's awesome!!!! This is the second great accurate ID of the night!! I actually remember seeing "32" stamped into the casing but I didn't know there was a .32 so I didn't pay much attention to it...like a dummy lol!! After a little googling that looks exactly like what it is!!! Thanks again I really appreciate the help!

I used to own a .32 Colt Police Positive. Cool old pistol, wish I hadn’t sold it!

Hey Jiggs that US item you found isn’t actually a button. It’s actually even better. The soldiers wore that on the collar of their uniform. On the right side. The other side would have what he did. For example if he were in the air force we would have had worn wings. Since the US isn’t cut out it’s an enlisted man. That’s a great find .

Thank a lot Brian!! I think I was the most excited about that find honestly, it was in the best condition comparably to the other finds, and I knew it had to be kind of old too. I did a little googling when I got home and seen what they really were but I'm not too sure what era it's from though. To me it looks like WWI or WWII but I'm not sure. So are all cut out lettered pins and such non-enlisted?

Jiggs Outdoors Looking at the back it looks to be WW1 since it has a screw back and yes the officers has just the US without the round circle part.

Jiggs Outdoors I just realized you got Instagram I’ll follow you. You will recognize me and I can send a pic of the officers vs the enlisted collar disk.

Oh wow that's so cool!! I was hoping it would be the older of the two, and now I understand what you mean about the cut out part. Thanks a lot for all the info and for helping me ID this stuff. I'm not much of an expert at all on this kind of stuff but I'm very interested...thanks again man!
