Out of bounds soccer rules state that a ball is considered to be out of bounds
when the entire ball crosses over the sideline or end line.
(Demonstrate) If even just a sliver of the ball is still touching the line, then the ball is considered to be in play.
Is it any different when the ball is in the air?
Can a player bend the ball out of bounds in soccer and then back into play?
Nope, but now it is really up to the referee’s judgment as they need to determine that the ball did in fact go out of bounds.
However, the same soccer out of bounds rules apply since there is a thin imaginary plane that extends from the outermost edge of the lines vertically up into space.
What if I’m out of bounds, but the ball is still in bounds and I touch it?
Then it is still considered in bounds.
