Very informative video! I just write for my own pleasure but i use technobabble mostly to set up the world, and more important the boundaries of technology, so it can't be used as a deus ex machina, but instead enrich the world and keep things consistent.

I would also say that knowing a decent amount of etymology could help. It allows you to create impressively scientific sounding words for new concepts through known origins, like how they come along naturally. Often Latin and/or Greek goes good with highly technical things.

One thing I don't like is when there's a technobabble solution to a technobabble problem. At least something in the story problem needs to be understandable and real. It helps suspend disbelief.

I prefer very technical sci-fi. I need to feel immersed in the future even when it's fiction. It needs to sound weird and foreign. I writing sci-fi and it's very based on plausible future technologies, but some tech in there just don't have official names, so I need to come up with several neologisms for all the neurotech, such as 'syncrosense', 'neurostream', 'neuroupload', 'neuroupgrade', 'neuroart' and so on. My work is based on political conflict in a ultra advanced utopian smart city in the year 2090, I need everything to fell full futuristic, changing even the culture and the economy. It's a new political system, fully automated, post scarcity just like star trek, and also most people in it are polygamous pansexual transhumans, I love worldbuilding that differs from our world. I think we need more sci-fi that really tries to be ahead of it's time, to talk about important issues we will face in the future, such as neurodata and biodata collection.
