The death penalty is not in use in all U.S. states, as I understand it -- unfortunately. But, next best: Life, no parole (the only way life can REALLY be life). I also understand that if a cop indicates you should pull over, shake your head "No," put on your 4-way flashers, then repeatedly point ahead of you, & drive to the nearest police station, NOT speeding. I guess if you don't know where that nearest station would be, you could also dial 9-1-1 on your phone while you're driving. Actually, as soon as your 4-ways are on, THEN dial 9-1-1 as well, RIGHT THEN!! (That's what I'd do. There may be cops in the vicinity that can drive over to actually meet & escort you!!) The only way you deal with a cop -- and talking to him THRU your unopened, still dead-bolt locked door at home! -- is to get his badge no. & station he works out of, + his superior's name, then phone & check the cop out, first. (Any REAL cop will NOT mind you doing this.) I would also ask his boss for the cop's physical description -- then ask the cop what he looks like thru the door. And ask his boss the cop's wife's name -- ANYthing you can use to check the guy (or gal) out -- he/she could hv stolen a valid badge. And anyone can buy a (fake) police badge online; there are also clubs where they collect & swap them (the real ones)!! (So, hi from a[nother] true crime addict in Toronto, Canada!!) 😀
