I thought Liverpool would do what they needed to do to advance last night, and when Salah scored the penalty I was only more convinced of that. Your consistent stance regarding Liverpool not being good enough to win the Premier League may have looked odd to some people a few weeks back but I think we are now clearly seeing why you thought that. Having said that, they didn't need to be of PL winning quality to win this over two legs and a 3-1 loss in that manner really highlights the deficiencies that you have alluded to all season. Despite all that, Liverpool are only 2 points off top with 6 games to go, stranger things have happened and you do not need to be the best team to get the most points in a 6 game run in.

Thanks for your comment, mate. I was confident that they would do it as well after the early goal. I just don’t think this Liverpool have as much control over games as Manchester City or Arsenal, despite being level on points with the latter. We’ve being hampered by injuries and a few high-profile decisions haven’t gone our way, but I never fancied us winning the Premier League this season. Like you said though, it could still happen. We’ve left ourselves with a chance with 6 games to go. I’m just used to this City team getting over the line.

It’s not the Champion’s League, but it’s a major trophy. It’s a much better standard of football than it used to be.
