Great video! Does the lower end on a Yamaha 25hp take less than a quart?

I have been Changing bottom end oil for years but you did a Excellent job Explaining how to do it the Right Way... I use to buy the Expensive Marine Grade 80w90 but have come to realize its the same oil as regular GL 5 80w90 gear oil, the marine grade is just a marketing ploy.

Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to say that. Yeah that makes sense, anything “boating” they do tend to jack up the cost on. Maybe before this winter I’ll get the regular stuff it’s probably easier to find too

Make sure you take the top screw out first not the bottom one if the top bolt can’t come out then your screwed with no oil in the lower unit bc you can’t refill

Where did you get that threaded fitting for the tube?

Mine came with the gear oil pump. It actually came with 2 - one for mercury and one for Yamaha

Yes! It’s a 4 stroke.
