You are incorrect to review a game that you didn't even get through HALF of! There is so much more to it when you finish quests for towns, ESPECIALLY the Emea questline, it opens up a TON of gameplay AND exploration options! Unbelievably LAZY review! I am having a great time with this game, but it does have some bugs and THAT wasn't even mentioned!

Im enjoying it. Not every game is for everyone. We all like different things. I don't listen to game reviewers anymore cuz i almost missed out on a few games i actually loved.

Obviously all reviews are opinions, but this feels like the wrong person reviewed this 😂 It's Stargate SG-1 meets Avatar meets Just Cause. When a reviewer highlights a bunch of genuinely great aspects and then immediately glazes over them, mentions other bits that most people consider positives as if they were negatives, doesn't mention a bunch of other fun stuff, and then really focuses on the shortcomings... it's obvious this game is clearly not your jam. Now, it's probably not going to win any awards, but the game is a great AA title and it's worth giving the demo a try!

I found the demo to be much less interesting than the actual game. The actual game is really good, but it helps to have played the original. The world of Adelpha was and is the star of the game, alongside the beautiful music and the quest to help the Talan get rid of the invaders. I started playing the original in 2001, and kept revisiting it throughout the years. Also played Second Contact, which was a good remaster in most ways. But this new game takes everything to a whole new level, while still combining fun action with good story-telling. It may not be as ground-breaking as the original, but it's just as much fun to explore Adelpha again and help the Talan once more. Great fun !!!

I don't agree. My only complaint is that at nearly £60 on Xbox it's overpriced. I would say £40-50 would be better. Banishers Ghosts of New Eden got AA pricing right.

It is a blast if you are completely brainless kid and enjoy vapid filler content. The original was groundbreaking and a real adventure where you have to find your way. Here you just dragged around like a child following the magic arrow around and do copy paste tasks over and over again.

It is a blast if you are a small child who just want to be lead around by the hand and not have to think for yourself a single time. I guess that is most gamers these days though. This game is nothing like the original.

The demo on PS5 is fun IMO, with the gliding and jet-packing, and combat too. The island is interesting too. I don't think there is a day/night cycle.

Was always curious about the original and couldn't ever run it, bought the second contact version and really enjoyed it (knowing it's a remake of a late 90's PC game with plenty of jank). Looking forward to playing this one when it's half off I think

It's just so weird to me that they made the protagonist so old. He looks like a 55-year-old budget Michael De Santa. The number-one reason I won't be buying this game is the demo. What a disappointment that was. The fact that they only allowed you 20 minutes to try the game is just the tip of the iceberg. Usually a demo implies unlimited time within a very restricted piece of the game, or, with the rise of Playstation's trials, 1-2 hours to play as much as you can do within the full release game. 20 minutes is just not enough time to get a feel for the game, and that 20 minutes didn't feel good to me anyway. Oh well. Plenty of other, better, and less expensive or at least more appropriately priced games to play instead! (Oh yeah, this game is a full $70 despite looking worse than Mass Effect 2, a game from 2010.

Combat is sluggish and your character is on ice, very one dimensional stand block shoot. In the end all the cutscenes made me quit. Holy shoot they're annoying! Every minute a cutscene just to see him press a button or take cover.

I hoped for a Sequel from Appeal themselves because the OG Outcast was amazing imo. Sadly these sequels doesnt come close to the feeling the first game gave you, but they are good enough that wont leave a mark in the history books. I've completed the first game, I dont know how many times... 10 or so, and im not tired of it. This game is worthy of a playthrough but doesnt really pull me back in, like the first game still does. Good Review.

How far into the game are you? And did you play the original back in the day? It's best to have played the original, makes the whole story (and world) much more understandable. Plus, you have to play this one for at least 3 or 4 hours before the game opens up and becomes much more than the sum of parts. For the fans of the original Cult Classic, this really is a treat !! (10 hours into the game now, I think I'm at 25 percent of the main story line)

I'm a big fan of the first one, which I have played multiple times since 1999. I looked forward to the sequel and I've played it a few hours, and it does nothing to transport me to this new take on Adelpha, unlike the original game. I also hate the user interface and the shooting bits get old real fast. The original had a magical aspect to it, with its quirky characters, funny dialogue and great music, but while this new game looks beautiful, it also leaves me cold and I can't be bothered with exploring the world because of my issues with the bland gameplay, poor user interface and quest solving. A letdown for me. And I was so excited to try it.

@@MultiDarkElf Have you played past the part that Cutter Slade must dive into a lake to retrieve some kind of orb? That was the moment it clicked with me again. Also, the way most quests intertwine is quite original although it's difficult to recapture the originality of the first game. It would have been great if Cutter had the same looks and voice at least, but Im still happy with what the developers have come up with.

It has too many loading screens/cinematics that rip you out of the immersion. The quests are boring. The story is w/e. The sound and music are meh too.
