Thanks! I originally made this in either 2008 or 2009 and it was for my specific pserver I was playing on, so a lot of the info prolly differs from what is actually best. Because that's literally what I wanted to do for heRO private server, is create a guide revealing all the clandestine quirks the oldest private server in RO history that has never been server wiped. Ya know, like using a bloody branch drop chance custom headgear to generate bloody branches to break with a level 16 novice to guarantee Ghostring spawn upon every use, and farm the fabrics from the giant whispers while wearing bee wings item drop equip set to collect Acid Bomb materials like stems, to Always Be Generating Max Damage Consumables. I had some of the game knowledge, but my reputation was terrible there. I am the most banned player from that server.

I actually had a really nostalgic moment where I wanted to play again and I saw that talon is up again and I just recently joined a few weeks ago. It's similar to anthem / animus I made my sniper and high priest. I really want to make a nymph white Smith but don't know exactly what build of equipment to get. @fjag11 150 str was just from the pally buff gospel. Hitting 15k damage isnt hard once you hit level 99 as a reborn. Its about getting the gear required for it. Theres probably way better gear out there but my RO knowledge is well over a year out of date, so I can't really advise too well on that.

It's Weaponry Research. Maximize Power makes your minimum damage the same as your maximum damage as if you had unlimited DEX (as in, you don't hit between 350-400 damage, you always hit 400 damage. Also keep in mind that DEX does more than just help you hit people.

Full Adrenaline Rush, AGI up, Berserk potion... all you need, as long as you have the Horn of the Buffalo/Thorny combo you should hit a good ASPD.

Before you can do Geffenia you need an Ice Pick, so if you're starting new the best thing you can do is to make an alt character like a Hunter to help support you. What I always do is I make a Knight and mob at Bibilan. Not only are the NPC drops enough to supplement any pots or other small things you'll want to buy in the beginning, but it's decent EXP and the cards you can get there are worth a lot, AND it's a lot faster than if you use a Hunter. Card hunting is your best bet for starting off.

1) Lord of Death, RSX, and Assassin Cross Eremes all drop Ice Pick. 2) Ice Pick, full buffs, elemental endow. 3) 150 STR is only possible with either god gears or Gospel buffs. 4) You can make +10 STR foods by cooking (look it up) or on this server you can donate for them 5) Cart Termination 6) I assume you mean the Very Very Strong elemental 2h axes, which is just a forged weapon and has no cards in it. 7) I have a Thara Frog and a Horn card in two Valkyrie's Shields.

Guess it's just personal preference. Whichever is more easily accessible. IIRC (haven't played for like 3 years) it'd be easier to access Moscovia than Geffenia, but not sure on your particular server if you can warp in directly or what.

AGI build isn't bad. If you're on officials that's probably the better choice anyway. This guide is mainly geared towards pserver players who can easily afford to Mammo (it's still possible, it just takes a lot of money managing) and still buy pots and make money.

Depends if you're pre-renewal or post-renewal. Pre I'd say STR but post definitely AGI.

If you use RODE calculator, you'll see that there's a set skill delay of .33 on officials and most pservers. Some choose to alter it or get rid of it and there's a setting to get rid of it (you can find it at the VEEERY bottom). Since the default is .33 (which is essentially 3 times a second), you can only use 3 skills per second, and 186 ASPD is basically 3 hits a second. That's essentially what I mean. In no ways do I support high ASPD builds though. My PVM build has 182 with HOTB set. :P

Zipper Bear. IDK though, honestly I didn't really use the axe weapon that I had to CT all that often, so having a weapon with that much SP consumption (-1 SP per card) is gonna be a lot worse when you're Hammerfalling.

Long story short, it was originally intended as a video entry for a contest on my server and never expected it to become so big, and the server had loads of ice picks, so it was very easy to get one. However, my best advice would be to make some friends who do Bio3 MVP and wait in line, cause usually SinX is first for IPs. S:

best video guide i ever saw. but. # 1: ws - best dps in game - false (!!!) creator, champion, even a sniper do their job much better. ws is a support class: over trust, full adrenaline rush, weapon perfection. # 2: ws - expensive to upkeep - true (!!!) you need to have much more overpriced gears for ws than creator (just make bottles for AD)/champion(just 1 weapon)/sniper(just 1 weapon) - just bcuz you must tank and dps, not only tank or only dps like others. also CT always needs zeny - you must always have a buffer of it.

Depends on the server, I don't remember which is the bug and which isn't cause I haven't played RO for months, but I'm about 85% sure it's supposed to work with Cart Revo. I could be wrong though.

Absolutely. They're great for leveling at the places you mentioned, but I wouldn't use a 2h weapon in WOE. You never know if a good SinX is lurking around the corner, or perhaps an e-fister. Then again, I'm not sure what type of WoEs you have on the server. If it's a low pop server, go for it, but if you're in a big WOE setting, then I'd advise to stick to strictly 1h weapons for WOE. If you can kill them in 1 CT with a heartbreaker/hurricanes, you can probably kill them in 1h with a CK. =P

8) No. But, a good build would have STR as the highest stat, VIT as the second highest stat, and AGI and DEX (depending on taste) can be either higher or lower than one another. 9) PVP weapons: Ice Pick, Combat Knife, Quad Diligent Orcish Axe or another 1h axe/mace if you're too poor for it, and status maces or anything that statuses. 10) You should get a +9 of any shoes and get Superior Shoes (Antique Firelock card). You can get extra STR from them and be able to wear welding mask. out of room

It does, but you have to be better about managing your money and a lot of the things I said would earn you more money than you spend won't, like Hill WInds for example. If you still have an Ice Pick, Sleepers are still a valid choice but you might not always make more than you spend. It all gets down to how well you manage your money, but I'm sure you'll do fine as long as you confirm that with a few people who actually main Smith on officials, which I don't. :(

as a blacksmith a lot of people go high STR/AGI for grinding, which is ok. I think if you get 181-182 with axes then there's no need to go any higher. Most people will settle with about 179-180 though. You want to focus your build towards STR no matter what build. DEX isn't as important til you're a Mastersmith. Anyway good luck

And by more reliable I mean that it will do consistent damage and can adapt to things like GR. But that doesn't necessarily make it better than the other killing moves. It's why I mained Lord Knight instead of Smith last year, since our guild already had an active Smith... we didn't really need more than 1. CT isn't that great for PVP, and this guide is geared towards PVM. In general (not always though), AD > CT in PVP/WOE, CT > AD in MVPing.

Well I was just saying to use a Hunter. You don't need a Sniper to collect cards like Thara, marc, etc. In fact I usually do well with a level 70-80 Hunter + Gakkung bow. If you don't do Hunter you could always do Knight. Either way I always do them side by side, and I don't focus on one more than the other.

go to geffenia for money, you'll make more than enough for WoE there. ice pick and CK, you'll have to save up or if you're gutsy do the CK quest. If the seals are open, make an ice pick. Or you can efist LoD untill it drops an ice pick.

With Full Adrenaline Rush and buffs, I find 180-183 to be a good range for CT speed with daggers like CK and Ice Pick, but again, this might be too fast or too slow for your personal tastes.

You have a few options. If they freeze like Garm you'll want Unfrozen or Swordfish, Id go with Unfrozen though. If you want more ATK go with Porcellio or Picky if it gets you to 140 STR. I can't remember but there's also a card that boosts DEF and/or stun resistance, anyone wanna look that up for me? Too lazy and haven't played RO in months now. :x

Good for PVM but I never liked using 2h weapons in PVP. :x MVPing mostly depends on what drops I get. Sometimes I'll make plenty more than I spend and other times I could spend a lot before making anything, but rarely will I ever spend more than I make over a few days. The best tips I can give are to be patient and persistent.

"Full buffs" as in Bless, AGI, Impositio Manus, all Priest buffs that could help you. Gospel buffs as in Battle Chant or Gospel, the Paladin skill that gives you random buffs.

is it better to use a 2hand axe or one hand axe+shield? How can you survive without agi? I mean vit totally sucks in comparison with agi in pvm imo. You get hit soooo often at for example hill winds, without 190+ flee...you use like 300orange pots per 3/4 hour. and to one hit them...well you really need good gear.

Ehm... Hibram is more complicated than that. If you wanna use a WS to kill him all you need are 1 HP, 1 Paladin, 1 HW and if you want to bring a BRagi you can. Just have the HW Storm Gust and freezes the Banshees, HP Pneuma the Pally/HP/Prof and SW you, and Pally Devo you. Alternatively you can LP instead of SG to protect against the GC/DarkGC but Bathory is ESSENTIAL in that fight. (Bathory is helpful no matter what setup, though.)

With a Blacksmith you could prolly do better with 70-80 VIT whereas on a Mastersmith you'd want 90 or more. You would wanna pump more into STR/AGI/DEX if you're WoEing, and that's if the server is big to where you'd be taking a lot of damage. non-reborn WoE is a lot different and I haven't really done it, so I can't say for sure, but I'd imagine that VIT would be less necessary. Still go for a semi-high number though.

You might want to add an annotation at the part where you tell a low level could lvl to culvert, spore south of payon are much better exp and are pretty easy if you got about 20 base dex (I usually stay at 9str and pump 20dex first just because they're amazing exp early on).

You are completely right. This was pre Thor/Diablos gear. My knowledge was out of date even then. But also this guide was specifically built around LLRO. I didn't ever expect this to get any attention outside of the server, so it was a bit of a surprise when it got over 100k views. Everything in this guide is totally out-of-date, but it's always fun to look back to the past and see how things used to be. :P

Phreeoni is a neutral MVP so he's not the best to kill with a WS. Orc Hero has lower VIT and DEF than Turtle General, so the damage will be lower. You should also use Fire element for both of those (either get elemental converters or use a Sage and endow your Ice Pick with Fire). What's your total STR, including +s?
