Man it’s been a while since I completed my first (and so far only) casual run. I got stuck trying to find the blue hearts and was determined to not look up the solutions but I think I shouldn’t worry about that at this point. Seeing this makes me remember what a beautiful game Celeste is and makes me want to go back and finish my play through. basically, when you press down dash, then the next frame, you press another direction, the game will force you into crouch, 4 pixels tall. Because spinners, or the dust bunnies, are spaced apart from each other (it's easier to make obstacles further spaced because the base madeline is 8 pixels tall, so why put things bunched up so close, when you can place them a couple pixels apart. the game will just fill in the blanks with visuals), causing madeline to go through the spinners. This is what is known as a demodash, which the devs have implemented into a keybind, allowing speedrunners to do demos with consistency.

As far as I can tell, they aren't able to get the exact right bounce angle they want while its still active, so they hit the very bottom.of it ro deactivate it, go inside and wait for it to activate while they're in the perfect spot, instead of taking a "sub-optimal" route by going around it and taking a less then ideal angle/bounce.

You can keep 2 dashes in farewell by avoiding a certain trigger during the cutscene at the start of farewell. Because you start with 2 dashes before the mourning cutscene, you can avoid a very specific trigger, and keep it. For more info, google oil skip farewell celeste.
