I signed up to try this today because I want to try logging what I read this year (which I've never done before, I'm not on Goodreads). I was so impressed that after just filling out a survey and logging the 2 books I'm currently reading, it already included in the recommendations one of my favourite books (which is not a hugely popular one!) and several others I've read, plus 2 that have just gone onto my wishlist!

This looks great, but my favorite thing about goodreads is that I can see all of my shelves at once and it has how many books are on each shelf... I may have to use both for a while? Storygraph looks amazing so far! I'll look more into it!

Literally only feature it needs to be perfect (GoodReads has this feature, but so does my toy collecting app that i made in a weekend, so what does that say about GoodReads?) The ability to be able to use the camera on my phone to scan the barcode to find books would be amazing.

So if you go to the Community page you can find people to follow (either via browsing or via entering their username) OR when you click on a book to view it, under the book cover image there is a summary of "what the community thinks" and you can click "see reviews" right there at the top of that. :-)

Omg just saw this -- it does NOT import custom shelves. You would currently have to tag everything. I did it over a weekend recently haha. Just in any down time while watching tv or whatever, I was tagging away!

You just go mark it as "read" and it sets it as being finished that day that you change that status. :-) So not necessarily a "Finish" button on the progress tracker, but it does the same thing

This might be very stupid, but the friend system in Goodreads was what made me go away from it in the beginning. It drove me crazy that I couldn't decide who to befriend there. It just added people from my Facebook when they joined Goodreads as well and I couldn't even turn that feature off. I don't want to show the whole world something I deem so personal as my reading habits! But for StoryGraph, I love how they want to make their page as good as possible and constantly work on it! I have sent them messages via the contact form so many times and they answer so quickly! No worries, it is not big problems that I contact them about, but I contact them every time I find something I don't completely understand or if there is missing information so that they can improve.

Hello! So I'm not a native English speaker and I struggle to understand what's the difference between checking some moods then "any of the selected moods" or "all of these selected moods"? Seems the same to me.

Oh good question! So basically, "any selected" would mean that if you selected both "hopeful" and "adventurous" then the list would show you books labeled as either/or. So one book might be only labeled as "hopeful" and another only labeled as "adventurous" but it will show you both books. Whereas if you pick "all selected" then it will show you books that have both labels on them. Not sure if I explained that well... ! haha - I hope I did!

When I imported my books, most came through not marked as owned (???) and mysteriously 3 or 4 books read for 2020 didn't come over, so my challenge status looked more skimpy than it was! The horror!! :P
