*Very easy to set up and use, attractive but be sure you understand the height it's not tall. The heat is not overwhelming, but steady and pleasant **fireplace.homes** It's quiet, too. I like the possibility of easily moving it from room to room in the event we want supplemental heat elsewhere. Definitely a good buy.*

Thank you for making a simple, straightforward video. Other videos I’ve seen go into far too much detail, and are far too long. Yours is short and sweet. 👍🏼

I've had this problem, ordered the tilt switch and still didn't work. I've seen so many videos on how to fix this issue but it's not explained enough. I saw your video is very thorough. Thank you. I'm going to try this and will let you know

Hooray!! Thank you so much! I’ve never fixed anything like this so I’m kinda proud of myself but most of all so grateful you took the time to share. Happy to have my heater back in action for this cold Covid-filled winter!!

Amazing how those two little crappy pieces can ruin the lamps , bypassing is the solution , who knew hahaha

Thank you!!!! I thought it was a blockage, took it apart and it wasn't working. The pilot light would come on but would go out as soon as you turned the knob to high. Saw your video, bypassed tilt switch and volia it lights up!

Reading a lot of praise & good ratings because it works, yes guys it works, but your bypassing all the safety.. Bypass tilt is fine if the heater not in a dangerous area if falls or under your supervision, however bypassing the thermocouple means if the pilot light ever go's out, it will keep spewing gas and if someone has an open flame in the area there could be an explosion especially if in a closed space.
@cjeanpierre113 жыл бұрын
you should def get a new heater, you'll sleep better that way 😜
@Kilroy614 жыл бұрын
So he basically bypassed all of the safety devices that shut it off in case of the heater falling over (tilt switch) or to automatically shut off the gas (spring in shutoff valve) if the pilot light goes out.

Damn, this actually worked 😳. All I did was take the spring out with a set of wire cutters. I left everything else where it was.

Need help lighting small heater outdoor
@robertmancini91184 жыл бұрын
so what the hell did u actually do. by throwing away a spring makes it work, how is that possible
@hmack12344 жыл бұрын
The tilt switches on these outdoor heaters are junk! if they fail, and give a false "tilt" it blocks the small voltage that the heated thermocouple creates (through the two wires connected to the tilt switch) By bypassing the switch,ie, physically splicing the wires together, you are bypassing this nuisance.Secondly, If the thermocouple doesn't work right and doesn't send said small voltage, the small valve held closed by the small spring will not open (this is why you have to push in the control switch for the first 30 seconds until thermocouple heats). He is effectively making this unit to turn on immediately as long as the ignitor works, propane available, and no clogged orifices. Yes, it removes the safeties, so you will have to consider this prior to doing this. Just remember that as a back up, the propane tank regulator itself has a mechanical cutoff switch in the event that it senses a large gas leak...my two cents!

You state the anti tilt connection is no good because of the stand w/the holes in bottom won't hold the heater upright. It will if you secure it properly to your deck or the ground. What about when a child, dog, or even another adult knocks the heater over? You have a major problem. The anti-tilt connector spring prevents the gas from continuing into the flame and fire occurring. Not a very good piece of advice from a safety perspective.
@Jr-ro3jy4 жыл бұрын
I do not believe people are doing this as a safety measure. People are doing this to fix a broken heater with a faulty tilt switch mechanism and should assume all risk.
@cjeanpierre114 жыл бұрын
My lamps are at least 100lbs , no easy to tilt , and yes we aren’t doing this to get a safety award , we are doing this to restore junk during cold wether , never leave your lamps unsupervised and you will be just fine 👍🏼

@@cjeanpierre11 Shouldn't you at least suggest that people can choose to buy a replacement ant-tilt switch and thermocouple? Together they would be less than $20

You are being dangerous with disassembling and bypass the safety valve and checking for leaks with a grill lighter. You need to be careful and not teach this type of procedure. Watchers beware.
