Mate don't listen to any of the nonsense. I like your videos. You're informed, well researched and entertaining. Thanks for the videos

Finished the vid. Why do people think it fair to criticise you on anything Charlie. You've got a lot of knowledge on most elements of construction. I've been plumbing here in the UK 30 years you've done a fine job pal. The sleeving of pipe through walls is only a necessity with gas and I've never had a cold pipe corrode when supplying an outside tap but how you've done it with the chemical resin and sleeve is very bibs and braces for you own home.

Thanks mate, really appreciate that. Thing is on plumbing there's always a danger of imposter syndrome with what I'm doing as I'll always defer to you guys with your greater knowledge but my channel has always been about recording what I'm up to on the house and doing it as well as I can. I really enjoy plumbing (and roofing) so I'll have to just do the videos and accept the criticism 😉

@@CharlieDIYte You'll always get the keyboard trades that forget its taken them decades to master their craft. Taking the plunge from Yorkshire fittings to end feed is a huge undertaking as you know and takes an apprentice months to even start to get right. You do lovely work bud and I've been a long time subscriber. Take no notice of the "know it all" trolls and don't even bother mentioning the fact they may comment on this or that. ;)

Charlie that's the same one I've been using for nearly 5 years... Never let me down. They use these in schools and hospitals to prevent scalding so you always get around 40c which my dog loves 😊

Very nice job . A hose gun holder would be an icing on the cake addition.

Nice soldering. I only used push fit and compression for years until i recently discovered a hidden love for end feed soldered fittings. Cheap, neat, very reliable, and actually quite quick once you've done a few.

Great video. I achieved the same by putting a 3m hose on the electric shower - when the dog gets muddy I just pop it out the window to wash him down. It's nothing compared to your setup but it only cost £10 & took 2 mins to do.

The other thing on legionella - in that short run the temperature of the water is going to drop down to ambient temperature pretty quickly, outside of the growing temperature of legionella.

Amazing work and knowledge. The hose is only short not exactly the bibby barge i dont think your going to have an outbreak over such a short bit of hose.

I noticed you used wooden blocks to space your Talon pipe clips off the wall. Talon actually make spacers for this purpose.

Pressure and flow are two separate things Charlie. The other commenter is correct and you are killing your flow with that amount of elbows straight off the main stop cock. 3 to 4 bar with as much flow as you can muster is very desirable with an unvented system. (been fitting them decades). Have a quick google for differences between pressure and flow. Its a misconception that even most Plumbers don't understand. Other than that great vid and an awesome job done matey.
@CharlieDIYte3 сағат бұрын
Thanks mate and fair point. Thing is though, killing the flow to the tap presumably - which isn't an issue because as you saw there's plenty of pressure. Or are you suggesting I'm killing the flow to the rest of the house, which forgive me but I can't really understand why that would be the case. Bottom line this is the only place I can put the outdoor tap so I'll have to live with the consequences.

@@CharlieDIYte Maybe some crossed wires? Is that stop cock on the black Alkathene only supplying this set up? If so then crack on mate for sure. Never an issue. I thought this may be the main entry point of you whole house supply?

When screwing on the tap itself, how do you get so that it's the right way up?

I'd be interested to know how it is possible to convert a hose pipe connection to MDPE?
@leerolfe53324 сағат бұрын
Alkathene to 15mm adapter (has a brown collar inside with a grab ring) which you then have 15mm size to move forward. Most plumbing merchants will stock that fitting and about £8 off the top of my head.
@weekendwarrior34207 сағат бұрын
I've just seen on "Skill Builder" that all those elbows create quite a resistance to water floow.

I think the dog would want a shower not jet washing.

But we're operating at 3 bar so this is irrelevant 🤔
@CharlieDIYte6 сағат бұрын
Exactly. And actually you just turn the nozzle into you find a suitable speed/ intensity
@martycurren53504 сағат бұрын
Copper fittings don't reduce the diameter, therfore not reduce the flow. Skills builder used push fit elbows that have an insert that reduces the diameter and the flow.
@KendalMike3 сағат бұрын
@@Swwils Exactly. That's why I always try to use bends instead of elbows, especially on the main run before branches.

I need to connect up a Douche for the toilet. It is a trigger type and will need a hot and cold feed. Do you think this dog wash set up would also work for this application?
