Many washers won’t work without hot water as there’s a sensor sensing that the water isn’t hot. In this case, only hook up the cold water and only use the cold cycles.

Thanks for the simple video. I found an old washer sitting out for garbage collection. It had a small leak which we sealed and then attached our garden hose to it. We keep it in the garage to wash really mucky stuff.

if you are using it on your carport and the electric socket is an outdoor on my porch which could possibly plug straight in or need a foot or 2 extra can you use a shorter Extension Cord.. I can use my hoses from indoor washer.. I want to connect my grandmother's washer on my carport to wash items in bags that are starting to tear like bedding etc (my indoor draining floods and needs repair not now) i see your water hose has something on the end of it green both spickets are about the same location on each side of the house the washer would be in the center of them in carport. What kind of hose should I get.. I would connect it and use it dry it inside and then unplug everything until needed again.. I understand the Y connector or close off cap seems simple enough but what kind of water hose do i need it is longer distance than the electricity which raised tiled porch maybe 2 - 3 inches off the ground next to front door. I usually get cheap hoses and the one i have now probably has leaks so what kind of hose would be the best for the actual spicket? And is it okay to use detergent/bleach and the bucket tilted onto my own bricked mulched dead bed of bushes? Hopefully the inside will be fixed soon but 2 investments into tropical systems in Florida I need to secure the few bags of belongings still to go thru that have washable items in them and there is a washer covered on my lawn waiting to be donated. This is the hose I have ready to use when it was needed brand new would it be a good one for this purpose? are these washers better than the front loader? we don't really have top loaders in the UK, in fact i've never seen one here. Space is minimal in the houses over here so I get why we use what we use, but I was curious about these

I wouldn't say they're any better than front loaders. All commercial laundry mats use front loader units in the US. Of course with front load there's always the chance of the door leaking and forming mold on the rubber seal vs top load

More than likely a portable washer would use more than 5 gallons However some high-efficiency portable washers use approximately 4 gallons (suggestion have a few buckets on hand for the initial test to determine what size pail you'll need so it doesn't overflow 🙂

I got my washer and dryer all-in-one combo machine (single machine that does both) today from facebook marketplace, watched your video and knew exactly what other parts I needed to buy at the hardware store to make this work. Now I am doing my first wash and no leaking! One question I have for you is this: When I am using it, I have the water source turned on. However, when I read online about leaving garden water sources on it says sometimes it can lead to pressure and bursts so now when my all-in-one machine goes from wash to the dry function, I am turning off the water. How important do you think that is to do? I am wondering if I can comfortably leave the water source turned on and maybe a couple of hours later when the dryer function is done drying all my clothes and I am ready to turn off the machine, at that point I turn off the water source. What do you think? Thanks!

Provided your garden hose is in good shape you can leave the water on during the wash and dry cycle. What happens over a long period of time is a garden hose has the tendency to start bulging and eventually springs a leak or bursts (of course this depends on your water pressure, the length of hose and the grade of water hose you're using) optionally you could purchase a high-quality hose that can handle higher water pressure (200 PSI working pressure, 800 PSI burst rating) then you could leave the water on full-time. (high-quality hose might be a tad expensive 😋

I read on google that attaching a garden hose to the washer can affect the washing machine because the garden hose is not built for that. I just bought a brand new portable washing machine that only has a cold water inlet I will only be needing to use a garden hose for a month because I'm moving and the only hose I have is one that expands as it fills up with water. Which is one of the cheapest ones u can find on amazon. Will I damage my washing machine if I hook it up to it? It also came with a short washer inlet hose. Would it be better for me to hook the garden hose to the outside water source, then use a coupler and hook it to the nose the washer came with then attach that to the washer? Or only use the garden hose? Which is the cheap one i bought 75 feet for $19? What would you do? I also read to wrap it with plumbers tape .. i just dont want to ruin my brand new single tub portable washer. Thank you.

Using a garden hose as water supply will not damage the washer (no need to use the supply line that came with the washer) The issue is the garden hose itself is not designed to withstand constant pressure for long periods of time (A garden hose will slowly stretch bulge and possibly spring a leak) so if you turn the supply water line off after each wash you will not have any issues

Could I do this with a portable washer that only has one water inlet? I was thinking get two hot washer hoses, one cold. Connect one cold and one hot hose to washer hookup on wall. Connect those to the top two on the Y. Then attach hot hose to the end of the Y splitter. Then the end of that hose screws on to the top of the washer (where the inlet is). I have a panda portable washer 6360W

@@wildwoodtop thanks! Yes, I don't won't to use scalding hot in that washer, but I also don't want to use only cold water. I prefer warm/hot. I cloth diaper my son, so I just prefer to not use cold water lol. But for now I'm going to just use cold once I move until I can afford all of the attachments and hoses that I'll need. I'll come back and update how it goes Incase anyone else happens to have the same question in the future, that I had.
